The whole Kavya loosing her shit on her first day of work still surprises me ... I expected her to last a bit longer. I'm also kind of confused as to why it needed to be scripted this way.
When she entered his door without knocking, she did it because she has a sense of entitlement. Kavya is prone to making relationships and situations seem more comfy than they truly are. Anuj having experienced this (her standing close, her nicknaming him, trying to take selfies with him), honestly did the right thing by setting a boundary from the first incident. Issue here is that he may not have had to take this step with another employee.
Then there was her enthusiasm to share her presentation .. it stemmed from her excitement to be working but also rooted in her desire to be a singular focus and admired. She probably became more internally preoccupied with her "lower status" with the amount of time she had to wait. We only caught a glimpse at the end where she seemed passive aggressive towards Anu & MaAn as an entity. There were rolled eyes, nonreceptive body language and storming out the door the moment she was dismissed. I'm not sure how professional she was throughout her PowerPoint. Sometimes the best ideas are laid to waste by poor execution.
While Anuj and Anu need to both provide input for the project - it felt like Anuj didn't think Kavya would feel hypersensitive about Anu's feedback despite the closed-off body language. Maybe he knew it was Kavya's first day and it would a moment for the wrinkles to smooth out. It also seemed, when he asked Kavya to stay seated, as if this was his way of helping Anu introduce a new dynamic and boundary with Kavya. Unfortunately, it was too much for Kavya.
I've seen peers loose their opportunities because of their ego ... while I wanted to appreciate Kavya for wanting and maintaining a job .. it seems she's just lost the ability to deal. Her mental state began a steady decline from the moment V stood her up at the mandap (when the Shahs were celebrating Anu & V's marriage anniversary). It's honestly a shame.
As for Anupama, I liked when Kinjal and Nandini were helping her with all the technology and trying to help her become more competitive in the world. Hopefully, they incorporate a track where Anu goes to training classes 2 days out of the week or something. Or even a nightly community class once a week.
