Heyyaaa Rooh Ka Humnava readers,

The chapter is filled with Neil and Saira moments. The last part came to my mind when I was on a trip to Lisbon and was riding the tram 28E. Well at that moment the scene was much more beautiful in my head but I forgot half of it. 🤣 Their conversation was really beautiful in my head which I am unable to recall. 🤣 So I am not really satisfied but well that’s all I could write.

The preparation of the wedding will start in next chapter and how Neil and Saira realize their feelings will come in the next few chapters.

The following three months Saira and Samir had spent a lot of time together trying to know each other better often at famous cafés of Paris, watching movies in the theatres, attending exhibitions… Neil and Naira also let them have their time together while they were busy with each other. After three long months both Saira and Samir’s family requested them to take a decision and they said yes for the marriage. Preparations were going on and date were getting fixed. Neil and Naira were extremely happy for their friend even though Naira wanted both her friends to end up together rather than with someone else.


Naira planned an outing with her two best friends but as usual she was the last one to show up. Neil ordered a beer and Saira a lemonade. They ended up discussing about how she was feeling about her wedding. Saira sounded very happy since the announcement but Neil could feel she wasn’t fully happy. He knew her so well that he understood she wasn’t aware of her own unhappiness. He wanted her to share what was in her mind and what was keeping her away from her happiness.

« I really like him. He is a nice guy. », she started with.
« We have figured it out. I want to hear the but… », he replied.
« He loves his family a lot and that’s a very good thing but he keeps telling it every other day. I feel like it’s not necessary to repeat that one loves his family when he actually does. For example you, I know that you love your family and you will die for them if needed but you don’t show it off. We see in your actions how much your family matters, you don’t have to chant your love for them. I sometimes get irritated by that. », she explained.

In the last three years, both their families got to know about their friendship. Saira attended a few gatherings with Neil’s family. Neil had visited Saira at her place a few times and met her parents. He hardly had any conversation with her father but he shared a nice bonding with her mother.

« The Saira I know doesn’t get irritated by such small things. She has more patience than this. », he said with a smile.
« I would love to see your next girlfriend repeating the same thing ten times a day. Then we will talk about patience again. », she said annoyed.
« Hmmm… if ignoring the matter doesn’t help then talk to him. Tell him that you are aware of his love and care for the family. He doesn’t have to prove it. », he suggested.
« Yeah! », she sighed. « Where is this girl, never on time. », she added to change the topic.
« Why are you avoiding the topic ? », he asked trying to catch her look.
« Because for you it’s a small thing so what’s the point discussing about it. », she replied.

She sent a message to Naira asking her where she was. Her desperation to see her friend joining them made him suspicious about her built up emotions.

« Saira, talk to me. », he requested placing his hands on hers.
« I don’t want to. », she refused.
« Ok kick me in the ass for overlooking at your problems but please tell me what’s in your mind. », he said. « Or you can do it to him if he pisses you off. », he added.
« That I can’t with him. », she replied.
« Why not ? You call me an ass and kick my ass ten times a day then why not him. », he asked.
« Because we don’t have that kind of relationship and I don’t think we will ever have. », she complained.
« You never know. The first few months you were pretty shy with me as well. You opened up much later after we had a few trips and started hanging out in Paris. It will be the same with him. », he tried to be positive.
« Yeah ! », she said again.
« Why are you being so pessimistic ? Anyways you don’t have any choice anymore. You have already said yes. You are stuck with him forever. », he joked.
« Yeah. », she sighed.
« You won’t get all the things you desired in a man no matter how perfect he is. Just look at me, aren’t there things that irritates you about me ? », he asked.
« Many. », she rolled her eyes.
« See. », he laughed. « Still you stick with me. You have accepted me as a friend the way I am. Same thing will happen with him too after marriage. », he reassured her.
« Maybe. », she replied.
« And then you will start calling him an ass too… no wait a minute, I don’t want you to call him the same way you call me. », he said rightfully.
« There can be only one ass in my life. », she smiled.
« That’s better. », he said squeezing her lips.
« My lipstick you ass », she slapped his hand away.

He watched her frown her forehead and smiled. He knew her so well that he knew frowning was her habit every time she didn’t agree with him but didn’t want to argue either. Naira showed up when the silence reigned between them.

As the wedding was fixed, Saira and Samir wanted to introduce their friends to each other. They decided to meet up for dinner. Naira and Neil were already at their table when Saira joined them at the restaurant. She was wearing all in black with a leather jacket and her hair was swept up by a messy ponytail. Her black all around winged liners were highlighting her big eyes and her dark red matte lipstick was the only color present in her. Mesmerized by her biker look, Neil checked her out till she decided to take place herself in between the two forcing them to move away.

« Damn, keep your hippo booty away. », Naira said.
« Shut up or else my hippo booty will kiss your face. », Saira replied.
« Lord, what don’t I have to hear with you two. », Neil facepalmed with a chuckle.

Samir and his friend showed up and they all introduced to each other. The guys sat on one side the girls on the other. Before starting their conversation they quickly ordered something to eat. Samir realized that Saira wasn’t the same with him the way she was with her friends. With him she was more shy, calm and mature. With them she was funny, savage and sometimes childish. While Neil and Saira liked Nassiha, Naira didn’t appreciate her much. Neil and Samir gelled pretty well without insecurities. While they were enjoying their desserts a little eight years old girl came running to them.

« Uncle Neiiil. », she said excitedly.
« Hey butterfly. », he opened his arms to hug her.

Rebecca was Neil’s cousin’s daughter. Rebecca and Neil were fond of each other. While he was introducing her to the rest of the gang, she looked at Saira her eyes wide open.

« Aunt Saira we look like twins. », she said.

Rebecca was in black. She was wearing a leather jacket and had a ponytail just like Saira. Saira smiled at her and Neil picked his phone up.

« Then the twins should take a picture together. », he said.
« You are so pretty. », Rebecca said to Saira.
« You are prettier my tiny Becky. », Saira replied taking her into her arms.

She went back to her parents after Neil took a picture of the two and she gave Neil and Saira goodbye kisses.

Once home Neil sent the picture on her cousin’s phone and called her. He talked to his butterfly who reminded him again how pretty Saira looked. He smiled and replied to her « Yes she is but not more than you my butterfly. »

After weeks of knowing each other, they planned to have a trip to Lisbon. The first day they visited the entire city center enjoying the ups and downs of the seven hills and riding the yellow trams, eating delicious food and buying souvenirs. The following day they reached the nearest hill city of Sintra where they visited as many as monuments and castles they could. Their favorite one was the Moorish Castle. Naira and Nassiha gave up after climbing half the stairs and went to take some rest. Saira, Neil and Samir continued to the top. Neil took a picture of Saira and Samir with the splendid view and Samir took one of the best friends. On their way back the couple were climbing down the stairs together while Neil was just behind them. Saira slipped and fell in Neil’s arms.

« You ok ? », Neil asked worried.
« Always when Neil is here. », Naira remarked, « Neil is not a boss, nor a partner. He is the knight in shining armor. », she added.

Neil exactly knew what her friend meant but Saira failed to understand that by boss she meant her father and by partner she meant Samir.

On the third day they went to the beach town called Cascais and roamed around taking pictures, visiting peaceful parks and admiring expensive houses.

They had only half day on their fourth day to enjoy the places they couldn’t see in Lisbon. Saira woke up early in the morning and got ready. Naira and Nassiha were still asleep. She went to the waiting area of the hotel to get a coffee from the vending machine. Neil came at the same time and stood next to her. He couldn’t sleep much while Samir was still in his bed. Just when she was about to insert the coin, he held her hand and dragged her outside.

« Let’s get a real coffee. », he said.
« My phone is in the room. », she informed.
« Leave it. I have mine. », he replied.

They took the yellow tram end walked to the bottom of the wagon. He put his hands around her waist and lifted her up to make her sit on the sill. With time each other’s touch stopped making them uncomfortable or make them react awkwardly. He took a video and a few pictures of her with the view of the tram climbing down the hill.

« I look so ugly. », she pouted.
« You look perfect. », he said pulling her nose.
« Ouch, my nose you asshole. », she slapped his shoulder.
« Do you want me to take a picture of you ? », a lady asked politely.
« Oh yeah sure. », Neil replied.

Saira forced him to bend down by pulling his ear.

« Calling me an asshole wasn't enough that you also had to pull my ear ? », he asked.
« Nope. », she stuck her tongue out at him.

He shook his head with a smile. She wrapped his neck with her arms from the back for the picture. When the two looked at it, they were quite surprised that it came out really good.

« Thank you so much. It’s a beautiful picture. », he thanked the lady.
« You lovebirds look really cute. », the lady replied.
« We are not lovers but best friends. », both Neil and Saira said at the same time.
« Oh ! », the lady looked at them with eyes wide open. « I am so sorry. »
« It’s fine. We have a good chemistry. », he said.
« That for sure you have. », the lady replied.
« Thanks to my good looks. I am sure you and I will look awesome too. », he winked at her.

The lady burst out laughing. Saira rolled her eyes but couldn’t stop her smile. After the lady got off the tram, he placed his forehead against hers and let her know that he was starving. She spotted the sunrise and expressed her desire to hop off for a photo. They walked to the belvedere and contemplated the beautiful view of the city with the ocean and the red and orange sky. After the photo session, they went to a café and ordered some pasteis de nata and chocolate croissants with two cups of coffee. Neil decided to enjoy one of their last sneaking out and alone moments. He knew that no matter what both Saira and Samir had decided on their first date, once married things would change. And once she will have kids everything will change drastically. His heart ached thinking that soon he will lose her but he was happy to know she was getting the happiness she deserved and a man who will take good care of her. Little did he know that his heart wasn't aching because of the loss but because she lived in it.
