After numerous incidents involving actors complaining about not getting their due, it is now a director's turn to voice his disappointment.
Miilee director, Ashish Khurana is furious with the producers of the show. After being associated with the serial for over six months, Khurana feels it is unfair on part of the producers to sideline him as far as the publicity of the show goes.
It all started when Raman Kumar, in a recent interview, shared the success of Miilee with Rajan Shahi, another director on the show. The deal between the directors is that Khurana directs the soap for the first fifteen episodes and the remaining half is taken care of by Rajan.
"It wasn't fair on Ramanji's part to not mention my name in the interview," says Khurana. "I've been working for a decade now. In the interim, I've directed shows like Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Kabhi Aaye Na Judaai, Kehta Hai Dil... I've even worked with Balaji for a couple of years. After so much experience, I deserve some recognition. I'm sure they hired me because of my capabilities. And now very conveniently someone else walks away with the credit!"
So, did he have a word with his colleague Rajan about the issue? "Why should I talk to him about it," he says. "I feel its Ramanji and Vinta Nanda's responsibility to make sure that their directors get their due for their work." He adds, "I'm hurt. It feels terrible when your bosses don't recognise the effort you put in for them."
