It’s not about the audience maturity but rather the kind of stories they happen to be and the kind of treatment they needed.
Captain Vikram Batra lived a happy larger than life with a story just like right out of a movie right from his birth as a twin to the way he got into the Indian Army to his girl friend, who in herself was another story just like a movie, and went off in full glory.
While on the other hand there was nothing bright about the story of Sardar Udham Singh. It just makes me unbelievably sad thinking about what he must have gone through in his short life. Not just him, all the people at that time who were subjected to the atrocity like Jalianwala Bagh Massacre, I mean I have no idea how they managed to go about their lives after that day.Reading about it, knowing about it and just watching it on the screen makes my blood boil and what not. Sardar Udham lived a tough life and Shoojit did an amazing job in translating it into the silver screen and conveying it to the people like me who are enjoying the fruits sown by these great martyrs and who have the good fortune of not having to go through those terrible times.
I didnt even know Uddham Singh released until the reviews came out

udham doesn't have songs. also a testament to it breaking general biopic expectations.
I saw. No songs apparently. Shershaah has that added advantage. Though I've been reading that this movie is superior slightly.
Though I agree but you if anyone other than Shoojit made this I hardly doubt Shaheed udham Singh would get the kind of respectful treatment. The movie making in sardar udham is just reaching another levels at times.
I can imagine the deshbhakti narrative they would pull especially in the o'dowyer killing scene. especially if Akshay bhaiya would do it. They would add romantic angle with Eileen, romantic song with his punjab girlfriend.
I am still mind blown by the last sequence. It isn't leaving me mind lol. Idk how hard it must've been to film it.
Marvel vs DC . Both are great for superhero movies but make differently.
I heard both are forgettable 🤣
I didn’t like Shershah much. Songs were lovely, yes but all in all a pretty average movie IMO.
Yet to watch Sardar Udham Singh but I am intrigued. I like Vicky’s acting so I am looking forward to watching it. Maybe this weekend.

Oh that ending scene, in fact the last 1 hour, had me shaking with a rush of emotions and it’s still refusing to leave my system. Such an impactful narration. I don’t care if this will get an Oscar but I do want this to be sent by India so that the whole world can see for themselves what lawless monsters the Brits were. They are the reason for half of the world still suffering from poverty but they are yet to even acknowledge it to themselves, let alone apologize to their victims.
Because people prefer watching Siddharth's solo movie over Vicky's solo movie.
