Krishna and the tale of hundred offences

During Yudhishthira's Rajasuya Yajna, Shri Krishna was chosen to receive the highest honour. Shishupala, the king of Chedi, was furious and began insulting Krishna publicly.

Yet Krishna remained calm. Long ago, he had promised Shishupala’s mother that he would forgive a hundred offences committed by her son. Krishna patiently endured every insult. But when Shishupala crossed the hundredth offence, Krishna finally raised his Sudarshana Chakra. The divine discus flew across the assembly and ended Shishupala’s life. At the very ceremony where Krishna had been honoured as the foremost among those present, he also demonstrated why dharma sometimes requires patience—and sometimes requires decisive action.
