This is a result of poor planning. They thought they would resample Indian soap operas, coupled with Bollywood and Hollywood thrillers and create a GREAT MASHUP! BS! It has failed on us big-time!!

Aqal ki bhi sahi kahi. For example, in Gaeti’s case, have you sometimes noticed how she talks? Have you noticed how Mrs. David talks? Ridiculous! They tried to show that only Muslims can speak proper Urdu in “Karachi”. Are you kidding me right now?

Let’s analyze. The way Mrs. David speaks - OMG! Kya karne ko mangta, kaisa karega, tum dekhta nahin. I’m sorry to say this but Catholics of Pakistan did not immigrate from Goa and Mangalore. Most of the catholics from Mumbai, Goa, and Mangalore speak Hindi that way due to the influence of Marathi and Konkani. Mangtai, hone ko kar nai sakta, etc. are slangs that got infused into the main Mumbaiya dialect due to how the local immigrants from those places (Goa and Mangalore) spoke. More specifically, Konkan coast.

Gaeti’s MAIN KAREGI, MAIN AYEGI, MAIN NAHIN JAYEGI. Now please explain to me how an Urdu speaking woman with proper pronunciation of QAAF, KHHA, and GHHAIN resort to such cheap-sound jhoparpatti slang of Mumbai? Main AAYEGI and JAAYEGI (instead of aaongi and jaoongi) are again slangs developed because of Marathi. Marathi speakers mistranslated those verbs into Hindi, hence creating that local slang.

In all honesty, these writers should be ashamed of themselves. FAILURE AT ITS BEST!

Ajeeb lagta hai yaar. Being brought up in a household where Hindi, Urdu, Marathi, English, and Arabic were a norm (with some members speaking Memani Gujarati), I have been exposed to cultural mashup from a very young age. I didn’t obtain this knowledge from movies, I have first hand information on how this mashup works. LOL. I literally cringed when a proper Urdu-speaking Gaeti started saying AYEGI JAYEGI. Ridiculous!

I understand your point

They actually tried to do something different but they failed in it.

Thanks, hon! Dour caught me by surprise. I have watched all 31 episodes so far. The show is dragging like crazy.
