New beginnings

I always wanted to go into Science but my parents were very against it. They always wanted business, business and business....It was getting to the point where it was hard to convince them that I was un-interested in business. I actually felt like running away because it was getting too much....My parents would never agree with me.

I saw an advertisement in the newspaper the other day "Lifetime trip to Mars" only 400 including astronaut outfits and everything. This sounded like a once in a lifetime opportunity and I was desperate to go for it. I had the money and everything, just needed a way to tell my parents. They would never agree.

I didn;t know who to tell or what to do. Things were going round and round in circles in my head. I decided to put my name down for this amazing trip to Mars. I didn't care about the consequences, I HAD to do this.

D-day arrived and I was raring to go. I had to get out of the house somehow without my parents knowing. I was leaving them forever as I knew if they ever found I would be dis-owned. I took my rucksack downstairs and my parents were in the kitchen. Tip toe-ing i crept downstairs and opened the front door. Phew, I was out of there!

I was so excited, I made it down to the space shuttle departure point and saw it there in front of me! "Wow I thought to myself" .....Then it all came back to..My parents face was in front of me. Did I really want to do this?
