I would have no problem if Anupama gathered guts enough to demand that Toshu stop going around licking his mother in law’s feet. Telling him he is no good and only a ghar jamai and has that position of his totally because of ehsaan and only because of being Rakhee’s son in law would actually bring Toshu a peg or two down and would be well deserved. As a mother especially as a mother scorned, Anupama has every right to tell her unworthy son off. Toshu will not listen to his mother but that is besides the point.
My only issue was Anupama declaring Kinjal cannot meet her mother. Anupama could have worded it differently, asked Kinjal if Kinjal wanted to keep relations with a woman like her mother since her mother is constantly wreaking havoc at Kinjal’s sasural. The same insult could have been dealt to Rakhee without making Kinjal a piece of property duty bound and subserviently obedient to the Shahs.
Yes, Ba’s ma’s haar, but why was Ba sitting with that haar? Didn’t make sense. The Ganga jal was mentioned by Vanraj and at first I thought he was exaggerating to insult his sambdhan. But Anupama acting on it was ludicrous. No wonder that old women, Ba, walks around queening and preening as if she was indeed the ruler of the house. Can’t stand the old woman. And can’t stand her husband (Bapuji) for not showing his wife her place, nose out of Anupama’s business.
