I watched it in the cinema 3 times >> of course including First Day First Show ❤️
And I pre-ordered several copies of the DVD when it was available.
An outstanding film. I recommend it to everyone who asks me for an intro into Bollywood films.
It's easily Top 50 of the best films ever made imo. Quite possibly in the top half too.
Sridevi's performance was so ridiculously in a CLASS of her own. At the time I lamely predicted she should win Filmfare's Best Actress + Critics Choice + Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2013 show... but they gave her none
9 years! Wow, it feels like it released more recently than that.
I miss Sri Devi, terribly. 💔
With this movie, the Empress showed why She is the Empress.

Out of curiosity... why several?
Kudos and a big Thank You to Gauri Shinde for making this gem, and choosing Sridevi for this role.
Sri has always been a director's actor. That's why there was so much authenticity in her role as Shashi. Sri was portraying the character, yet Shashi felt like her own person. That's the sign of a great actress, and a great director. 👏
A bit of a personal trivia:
Back in 2012, I remember badly insisting my college friends to plan and watch this film in the theater. But they all disregarded me and said
"Arey... wo film to mummyion ke liye hai.
. Hum log Son of Sardar dekhne chalenge next month
".
Seriously the obsession over 'masala' films back then was ridiculous.
But it was my childhood dream to watch Sridevi on bigscreen, so I went alone.
And not surprisingly, I never planned a movie again with my so called "friend circle", and I'm happy I'm not in touch with any of them today.
Sridevi was just brilliant in it.
Was my go to movie when I was feeling low , but post Sridevi's passing can't watch it without a lump in my throat.
I'm glad Sridevi did this movie. 😳
But, whenever I watch this movie post Sridevi's death, I feel devastated.. 💔
One of my favorite movies ever.... Sridevi is much missed.
