You know those ITV ke UPite/Bihari Zameendaars jo MLAs hote hai? Waisi vibe aa rahi hai ghar dekhke. Plus those huge portraits and the doggo (aww ❤️). Ye def bigda hua baccha hai, isliye Sultan ka baap hai in terms of spoiltness and getting what he wants.

I am thinking Danish's family belongs to the village but they are super rich coz of zameendaari and political careers so they can afford to send their son to a city for his education (most likely Karachi). And Dur-E's family can belong to the city, be liberal minded, believing in woman empowerment and all those positive things but not from a well-to-do family, not too rich.

Danish and Dur-E meet in college, fall in love, but his father cannot take a city girl as his bahu coz this man is power hungry, he knows educated bahu aayegi toh ladka life mein kuch aur bada karne ki sochega aur ye sab zameen/politics chali jaygi (uk typical cheap thoughts), so he wants a gaon ki ladki for his son. Meanwhile Dur-E won't be able to adjust in such an environment because she's forward thinking wali and she can see this environment is toxic for Danish.

Ab aage tragedies kya hogi idk, but its also possible that Dur-E's character runs for election? And she is like the head of the rival party? So in terms of love they are on the same page but when it comes to careers, they are total rivals.
