The issue with Indian TV shows is that they take up conflicts but don't resolve it properly. They show one of the leads cheating/being toxic/misunderstanding/doing nonsense for drama/conflict/TRP and then turn them around overnight and make them resolve everything when they have to move on to the next track. This is why you have this marriage-divorce-almost marriage with third angle-remarriage again cycle in daily soaps. And this is also why 90 % of the relationships come across as shallow/toxic. Kuch Rang did better in S1. The writing had more depth & the third angles were sane. But S3 is pathetic in all regards. They have a wafer thin plot. None of them are in character (anyone who has watched S1 can tell this is not Dev/Sona/Ishwari but their watered down inconsistent flip flopping versions) & they are showing nonsense to fill up episodes. A character like Sanjana doesn't belong to a show like Kuch Rang. But then again, even this Dev, Sona & Ishwari don't belong to a show like Kuch Rang because S1 had way better writing thanks to Durjoy Dutta

Wafer thin plot which has pretty much crumbled.

Exploring Asha's death should have been a proper track, instead, it was a two episode drama: 1. Dev went to seminar, 2. Dev realized and built school.

It made absolutely zero sense whatsoever. Exactly what happened was not etched out, because the writers themselves seem to have no clue.

Now they are spending so much time on a useless 3rd angle, hoping to gain TRPs. Well.

There is no way they are gaining TRP with this. There are other shows like Anupama, Udaariyan, Imlie, Ghum Hai Kisi Ke Pyaar Mein etc which have full fledged extramarital affairs & a lot of TRP drama. What S3 is showing is neither nuanced writing nor TRP drama.

Well then, I hope they wrap this up quickly because I feel they have butchered all the characters enough.

It won't last more than a a month. It has the lowest TRP on Sony & I don't think a lot of ppl are watching it online either. This show had insane popularity online during S1 & am sure the channel expected a lot from it. Also the actors must be getting paid a lot too. So yeah, Sony is probably just waiting to pull the plug once another show is ready

Thank you. You saved me from writing. I have been screaming at top of my lungs and writing this since S3 began & she was ready to take kids and walk away from DEV.

She really needs to realize that this is unhealthy toxic relationship-marriage. Her love for Dev is her dreaming about what she wants in a man and needing it from him. he is never going to fulfill her emotional needs or wants. respect, acknowledgement or appreciation. out of their 10+ yrs marriage they had been separated, he threw her out twice and 3 rd time she was going to walk away. speaks volumes. They are sliding all the issues under the rug and keep bringing new tracks which do not make sense.

We all discuss Dev's shortcomings or how dysfunctional he is. at the same time Sona has some issues why she needs to have Dev in her life. SOmetimes we want someone or something when we know we will never have them or have it. Sona comes from a healthy loving family. She doesn't have any emotional baggage from her childhood. So what is it that is keeping her in this Dixit family & marriage to Dev.😒😔

What I would have really liked to see is Sona listing out why she can't come back to him, after the fake engagement fiasco with Nisha. I wanted to see Sona tell him about her 7 years, how he treated her and what she went through. Instead, she ran and proposed and things were hunky-dory, all good.

But since they showed that they made up and decided to communicate better and work on their relationship, this S3 drama made even lesser sense. Because in what, one year, they are all back to square one? That was nonsense.

I read through the discussion on this thread briefly. Yeah, I agree, Sonakshi's biggest shortcoming is loving blindly & being a people pleaser (or maybe, family pleaser). She loves Dev, to such an extent that even after all that has happened, she's willing to forgive. That's just being a moron. As they say, fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.

I really wish that after the 7 year leap, they showed Soha to be Sourabh's daughter, not of Devakshi. This would mean, if Sonakshi returned to Dev, it was because Dev has introspected, and transformed into a better person. If Ishwari accepted infertile Sona, it would be because of the person she is. Not an overnight transformation. What the CVs chose to show was just so cliched. Soha gets her whole family & Dev-Ish get Sonakshi as a bonus.

Sona never asked herself or her loved ones the right questions. It was always the convenient questions. If she ever thought why she was so hesitant to confess to Dev while he was getting engaged, she would get the right answers - not the adjusted answer fed to her by Ishwari, Asha (another moron post leap) & others.

Ishwari's transformation was so opportunistic - as in, Sonakshi freed me from the khatri baggage (the way Sona's character got butchered in this track me absolutely fed up), she has given me a readymade vaaris Suhana - so why not bring her back into the mad household? I'm a pro at manipulation, Sonakshi is an easy target.

Dev- oh boy, she is doing so much for my god, I think I still love her like before (again, so convenient). Sona is an emotional fool, so I don't even need to lift a finger to get her back. My god is convinced, she'll do all the emotional blackmail. All I need to do is get a random girl into the picture. There's no need to change who I am, because Suhana is the glue, and love already exists. Who gives an eff about respect, trust & understanding?

Sona loved Dev every moment after she realised that she's in love. No issues there, you can still love someone who hasn't been fair to you without living with them. BUT, getting back to them, without even resolving the issues that constantly make way is a blunder, a hole you chose to get into yourself.

Regardless of the dumbness & some attributes which irk me, Sonakshi Bose is my favourite ITV FL😃😆 Because, I'd like to believe that the writing let me down, not Sona herself 😉

Actually they should have shown that Soha was adopted. Even that would have made for an interesting plot. The way I see it, S1 Dev & Sona esp pre leap are way way better than most leads on Indian TV. Yes there were issues & flaws but at least there was no manhandling, cheating, random marriage with third angle, random divorce & remarriage etc. They had a lot of realistic scenes & conflicts which is a big deal on Indian TV (because standards are that low when it comes to daily soaps). Even post leap, most shows show stupid third angle & jealousy tracks and custody battle and what not so I consider KRP better in that regard too. Which is why I had some expectations from this season but this season has been the worst. This is not even Dev, Sona & Ishwari. They look like aliens who are using the same names

Simply superb write up on these 2. Especially Dev babu 👏 Well put. I couldn't have done better had I tried. Oh boy oh boy .....You nailed it.👍🏼

@ Bold abt Sona. As they say, fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. And she has been fooled many many times by Dev & the Ultimate God in Dixit family Maate Ishu 😡

Me too fan of Sona as FL 😃

Bold:

I HATED the infertility track and even though the show made it such that even after Suhana, Dev-Sonakshi got back together because of their love for each other and not Suhana, I always wanted Sonakshi to ask this question to Ishwari. Would you accept me if Suhana wasn't there? Would you accept me for who I am.

Neha had chosen to never have a child. If Sonakshi couldn't conceive, would she be accepted as wholeheartedly? That would have been the true redemption, considering how awful that infertility track was.

But okay. They got back together, Ishwari mended her ways to a large extent and let them live their lives. End of S1.

Then we get this S3 where with no rhyme or reason, everyone is back to preleap avatars, with glimpses of post leap love and acceptance 😑😑😑😑
