I'm so sorry for making you guys wait for this one, I was really wanting it to be per-fect! Here's the last part of the story! Thank you guys so much for reading it. And special thanks to... *drum roll please* MilkBiscuits!!! Who helped me in writing this! Let's get to it!
Part 4 (Final)
Dilshad sat in her room, all long faced. It had been a week since her son had admitted that he was in love with Zoya, yet there was no sign of things getting better between the two! In fact, it was better when they bickered, now they were just silent, as if the other didn't even exist. Dilshad frowned as she folded some laundry and inwardly cursed at her son's behaviour. Why did he have to be so stubborn?! She slammed a folded kurta on her bed and huffed, folding her arms.
Bas ho gaya!
She shook her head and stomped off to her son's room.
"Asad, bas ho gaya! Kitne din uss ladki ko sataoge? It was better when you two bickered! At least there was some fun in the house, now you are just silent!
"Ammi-"
"Why haven't you told her about your feelings yet?!" Dilshad ranted out on a staggered Asad.
"Ammi- yeh beech mein hi-"
"Beech mein kya Asad? It's been a week since you told me you loved her! Tum yahan 'woh-actually' karte baithoge aur Zoya kisi aur ke sath-"
"Ammi!" Asad almost yelled.
"Ab aaya oonth pahad ke niche?" Dilshad smirked, "Asad, I'm serious. If you don't tell Zoya how you feel about her by the end of this day, I'll...I'll send her back to New York!" She threatened playfully.
"Ammi but-"
"No buts Asad! I'm giving you a do or die situation." She give him her ultimatum.
"O-okay fine!" Asad grumbled and started typing away again. Dilshad smiled and strolled out of his room.
※※※※※※
Zoya paced around, taking a bite or two out of her slice of pizza. She had been deliberately avoiding Jahapanah for a week now, and she was quickly running out of excuses to do so! She would leave the house before the family came together for breakfast, unable to bear seeing Tanveer getting closer and closer to Asad. She would come home before Asad did and trap herself in her room after having an early dinner.
She could sense Asad trying to get her attention, but she brushed it off. At times, she also smiled inwardly at the cute ways he tried to talk to her and failed! She felt bad keeping him on the edge like that, but there was no other way. This time, Zoya Farooqui wasn't going to forgive and forget!
It was a pleasant evening, she badly wanted to sit on her favourite bench in the mini-garden but, Asad Ahmed Khan, aka Akdu Ahmed Khan aka Jahanpanah Six-packs was the problem! His bedroom window was right there! Right beside her beloved bench! He would be able to see her sit there, looking all hot and bothered and sullen. Zoya tried to get a peek of the setting sun by sticking her head out of the window. The sunset was looking to be beautiful from the small window of her room, but it wasn't the same. There were streaks of pink and orange lining the sky. It seemed as if a painting had been spread across the heavens, and the colourful streaks were the brush strokes! She sighed.
Zoya was snapped out of her dreamland when she heard a click from her room door.
Ya Allah please don't be Mr Khan, please don't be Mr Khan, please don't be Mr Khan...
Zoya chanted in her head. She turned around slowly, peeking from under her lashes, and smiled in relief when she saw Najma standing there.
"Oh, hi Tamater!" She chirped, wiping a thin layer of sweat from her forehead.
"Hi Zoya, aap theek hai na? I mean, you seem quite shaky..." Najma knitted her brows and asked, noticing Zoya's nervousness.
"Yeah! I'm fine! You wanted to say something? And why are you so dressed up all of a sudden?" Zoya said, diverting the topic.
"Oh yeah, right. I just wanted to inform you that Tanveer, Ammi and I are going out, we've been invited to this anniversary party of our longtime neighbors...and Bhaijaan will be coming home after some time, so Ammi has just told you two to have dinner, which is on the table." Najma breathed out. Zoya nodded uncertainly. Somewhere, in the back of her ever-hyper mind, she had the feeling that whatever Najma said was rehearsed. Zoya shook the thought off and waved Najma and Dilshad goodbye from near her bedroom, then slipped back into her territory of messiness and confusing thoughts.
Casually twirling his car keys around his finger, Asad entered from the gate of the Khan Villa. He saw his Ammi, Tanveer and Najma coming towards the main gate, all decked up and frowned in confusion.
"Ammi, Najma, aap log kahan ja rahe hain?" He asked incredulously.
"We're going to the Sharmas' anniversary party, it's their 40th marriage anniversary! Can you believe it!" Dilshad said, excited, but not for the party! Tanveer was looking disgruntled, he couldn't help wondering why. Asad thinned his eyes at the expression on his mother's face.
Kuch toh gadbad hai...
"Aur...Zo-Miss Farooqui?" He asked raising a brow.
"Woh andar hai, dinner is on the table, bye!" Dilshad quickly said and proceeded towards the house next to theirs, dragging Najma and a reluctant Tanveer along.
Asad didn't miss the mischievous glint in his Ammi's eyes and sighed in annoyance. As he entered the house, he also found himself thanking Allah for this chance. He would finally be able to talk to her! They could talk over dinner, or coffee or just...talk.
Asad freshened up and looked at Zoya's door longingly, he could see her little shadow pacing around from the frosted glass. Asad smiled and took out two plates from the cupboard, placing them on the table. He placed Zoya's plate not at its usual place which was all the way across the table from him, but right next to his plate. He sat on his seat, waiting for her.
Finally after 15 minutes of pure longing, Asad heard the door of her room click open. He heard her soft footsteps come nearer and nearer as he stared at his empty plate. He felt his heart thump louder and louder! Zoya walked out to the dining area, tapping away on her iPad to distract herself from the Jahapanah seated in front of her.
Asad felt a small smile tugging at his lips when he saw her trying to concentrate on whatever she was doing on her iPad. She was pouting cutely, and out of nowhere Asad found himself wondering what her lips would taste like. He shivered as he dwelled on the thought.
He followed her gaze when she looked up, tearing her eyes from the screen only to furrow her perfectly lined brows for a moment when she saw a plate in front of the seat next to Asad's. He looked at her and smiled awkwardly, causing her to raise a brow.
She took a seat in front of him and began serving herself the scrumptious Kheema that Dilshad had prepared. Asad almost chuckled when he saw the staggering tower of Kheema on her plate. He smirked at her, to which she glared at him.
"Roti?" Asad asked, holding a Roti in front of her.
"T-thanks." She muttered, flustered by his gesture.
They started eating, sharing a few awkward brushes of the hand and shortened eye-locks. Asad just observed her, taking her beauty in. He couldn't help but smile inwardly at the way her cheeks puffed up when she chewed on a large chunk of food, making her look like a cute bunny. He could always get lost in her mesmerizing brown eyes. The lion inside him purred when he imagined himself weaving his hand through her silken hair as he ravished her soft pink lips. He didn't realize when his eyes had glazed over and had darkened with desire, unknown to Zoya who gobbled up the last Roti with what was left of the Kheema.
Asad decided he'd had enough of this awkward silence.
"W-would you like some coffee?" He asked, earning a questioning look from Zoya.
Great, just great. I just made it more awkward. Make it clear to her Asad!
"I-I mean, f-for later?"
"Yeah..." Zoya mumbled.
"So...w-where did you go today?" Asad asked and in no time kicked himself mentally for asking such a stupid question.
Good lord Asad GET YOURSELF TOGETHER!
"I think it's none of your business..." Zoya huffed.
"I..woh...actually..." Asad tried to redeem himself but failed miserably.
"I-I'll see you later I guess." Zoya said softly and turned to go to her room, leaving a bothered Asad staring at her retreating back.
"Uh...wait!" Asad called out, making Zoya turn around in surprise.
"I...I just wanted say I-I'm sorry." He finally put the cards on the table.
"For what Mr Khan?"
"For...for that day. When I shouted at you for telling Ammi the truth. And for-" He started, lowering his gaze in shame but was interrupted by Zoya.
"Oh...it's fine Mr Khan." She said and disappeared into the confines of her room. Asad stood rooted to his spot, stunned.
"It's fine"? "IT'S FINE"?! What in the world makes her think that? It most certainly isn't FINE! How can she forgive me so easily? After all those horrible things I...No, there must be more to the picture, or is she just...Zoya.
Asad pinched the bridge of his nose and walked off into the kitchen to make two cups of coffee.
※※※※※※
Zoya sat on the bench in the garden, trying to wrap Asad's behavior around her confused mind.
Allah miyah! What's wrong with Mr Khan all of a sudden? Apologizing to me like there's no tomorrow! Itne dinon se I'm trying to avoid him, he should be happy! But instead he's trying to talk to me?!
Asad walked out to the garden outside, holding two cups of coffee. It was pretty cold, he noticed, he hoped Zoya had a shawl or something.
Though there are other ways I could keep her warm...
He smiled and shook the thought off as he saw Zoya's petite frame resting on their bench. His breathing got ragged as he neared her. Asad held out the cup in front of her to take. He felt tingles shoot up his arm as their fingers brushed when she took the cup. He sat down beside her and sipped his coffee silently, before breaking the silence once again.
"Miss Farooqui...are you okay?"
"Yes." Came the soft reply. "Why?"
"I don't know you just...seem a bit too silent."
"Isn't that good for you?" She asked, a bit like the weather outside, cold.
"It should be...but it isn't." Asad said boldly, well for him.
"What?" Zoya said, not understanding what he meant.
"I don't like it."
"Don't like what?" Zoya said, now genuinely confused.
"You being all...silent." He said now looking into her eyes. She seemed to sense his next move so she got up abruptly. So did he.
"Okay..." She said, not knowing how to respond.
What's with the short answers Zoya? Talk to me...please.
"Zoya I really am sorry." He said sincerely, thus not being able to stop his voice from cracking. Zoya's eyes shot up to look at his forlorn face. She could see tears welling up in his eyes. Zoya wanted to kiss those dreaded tears away, but her self-respect stopped her.
"I know, I said it's okay." She said in a monotone.
"Then why are you behaving like this?"
"Like what?" She said raising her voice.
Oh two can play this game Zoya.
"Like all silent, avoiding me...yeah I know you've been avoiding me Zoya. And I can't take it anymore!" Asad said, a little loudly.
"Mr Khan what are you- oh never mind." She turned around to go away but instead she crashed into Asad's hard chest and staggered a few steps behind.
"Don't run away from this Miss Farooqui. Please, just listen to me. Even if you try to walk away from here, I won't let you." He said through gritted teeth, causing Zoya to let out a small gasp.
"What do you want Mr Khan?"
You.
"I-I just want you to talk to me." He said, blinking rapidly, instead of dropping the 'You' bomb.
"I am!" She said, raising her voice an octave higher.
"This...this is different!" He said frowning. He couldn't think of anything to say! He was too busy admiring her cute irritated state. He was angry, but he couldn't stop his eyes from tracing her full, pink lips.
Focus!
"Kya- forget it. I-I have some work to do..." She turned to the house again, an action Asad didn't like. His heart was set.
Oh no you don't...
Asad grabbed Zoya's retreating wrist and pulled her into his chest, wrapping his other free arm possessively around her waist. Zoya yelped at the sudden action and started resisting him, pushing his chest. He only held her tighter at that, she gasped at the close proximity and shivered because of Asad's breath fanning her face.
"Mr Khan let go..." She breathed.
Asad pulled her closer, if that was even possible. He bent down so that his lips brushed Zoya's ears, she let out a soft sigh heard only by Asad. His eyes were darkened with desire, and...love. Sweet, passionate, caring, pure...love.
"Never." He whispered huskily, brushing his lips against her earlobe. Zoya bit her lip to stifle a moan, she couldn't do this, she had to push him away. Unknowingly, his arms had fallen to hold her delicately by the waist, Zoya noticed this and quickly pushed him away, shaking her head. No matter how much she wanted him to hold her like he was doing now, to kiss her until she couldn't breathe... she couldn't be vulnerable again, and allow him to break her heart piece by piece all over again.
"This...I can't...I-I need to go..." Zoya stuttered, completely conflicted, and turned around to the house, but once again she was pulled by the wrist and into Asad's chest.
"Mr Kh-" She tried again, but her words slid back down her throat as Asad slanted his mouth over hers and claimed her lips in a longing kiss.
It was better than Asad had ever imagined, her soft lips tasted like strawberries and jam, a flavour Asad had never preferred but oh, how he loved it right now! All he could see was Zoya, all he could feel was Zoya. Their lips moved perfectly against each other, almost like they were made just for Asad. He tightened his hold on her waist, causing her hands to flutter up to lock around his neck. He smiled and broke away, muttered a soft "I'm sorry" and swooped in on another angle.
Zoya was on cloud nine! Even though she had pushed him away at first, the moment his lips had touched hers she was putty in his hands. She sighed in pleasure and drove her hands through his hair, earning a low groan from him. That soft "I'm sorry" had melted her heart. She felt him smile through the kiss, and shivered as he started tracing her lower back ever so lightly with his fingers. His other hand cupped her cheek and wove through her hair. They both moaned when Asad deepened the kiss, tracing her lower lip with his tongue and tasting her hungrily. He kissed her like there was no tomorrow, showering her with all the love that had been growing inside him by each second. He kept on giving her small, hot pecks over and over, slowly going into a different kind of plane. He was high, literally high on her taste and her love. He lost track of where they were, what was happening and why it was happening. The only thing on his mind was Zoya.
They kissed for what seemed like hours and finally broke apart, chests heaving.
"Was that enough to prove that I'm sorry?" He whispered, smirking and rested his forehead against hers. They both just smiled at each other and wrapped their arms around each other. Zoya rested her head on Asad's chest, trying to catch a breath after the phenomenal happenings.
"I hate you Mr Khan..." Zoya said breathlessly and giggled.
"Really? Because what just happened didn't feel like it." He said and leaned in to give her a slow peck, she clutched his collar to keep herself steady. He groaned softly, nibbling on her lower lip. This time the kiss was much more gentle, full of care and pure love. He kept breaking away only to capture her lips again and again. Zoya felt herself being pulled to the ground by a gentle force, if he wouldn't have been holding her right now, she would've collapsed a long time ago. Zoya was drowning in the different types of sensations coursing through her lips and her body. She noticed his breaths were unusually ragged, she furrowed her brows for a moment. Her eyes fluttered open when she felt water drops fall on her cheek.
Weird, it wasn't cloudy all day. So how...?
She opened her eyes and looked up at the sky, breaking the gentle kiss. It wasn't raining, then why did she feel drops fall on her cheek? She looked down at Asad, and felt tears well up in her own eyes. Asad was crying silently, breaking down right in front of her. She cupped his tear-streaked face and lifted it to look at her.
"Hey...what happened?" She asked, her voice thick with unshed emotions.
"I'm so sorry Zoya...for everything. For hurting you so much, for always putting you down and...I'll never be able to forgive myself for that. I'm sorry..." He said, crying into Zoya's open arms. His body shook with sobs as Zoya stroked his back lovingly to comfort him.
"Shh. It's okay...it's fine..." She started whispering sweet nothings into his ear.
"No it's-it's not! How can you forgive me so easily? How, after everything I've said to you? I...I don't deserve-"
"Mr Asad Ahmed Khan! Don't you dare complete that sentence." She said sternly, yet sadly.
"I'm sorry...I'm sorry..." He kept muttering between his sobs, Zoya's heart went out to him.
"I love you...so much." He whispered and buried his face in her tresses.
"I...love you too." Zoya sighed and cupped his face. They stayed in their passionate embrace for a while, both bathing in the love that the other gave them.
Suddenly, Asad pulled away, causing Zoya to furrow her brows in confusion. What he did next swept her off her feet!
He knelt down on one knee and held his hand out to her, looking at her with the purest form of love.
"Zoya Farooqui, will you make me the luckiest man on earth and marry me?" He said tearfully, his eyes pleading.
"Ya Allah Mr Khan, who knew you were such a cheesy person!" She laughed.
"So...?" He asked raising a brow and motioning her to answer.
"Of course Mr Khan! Yes!" She squealed as Asad got up on his feet and crushed her into his arms.
Finally.
He sighed and closed his eyes, all his grief forgotten because of the light of his life, Zoya. He vowed to himself to never make the mistake of letting her go again. No matter who tried to break them apart. They were one, she was his heart, his life, his Zoya.
They stayed together in this embrace, and in their hearts, promised to stay with each other for the rest of their lives.

Loved Zoya in this one….I hated how Asad put her down all the time and she forgave him so easily in the show. It was so refreshing how you made her the warrior she always was!
