Exactly. I don't see why she is living with the Virks. I'm sorry but imo this beti and all is a scam. They want Tejo because she is capable of being a self sacrificing person when it comes to anyone she loves and is far better than Jasmine. She is smart so she can serve them properly and not make stupid mistakes like Jasmine, that is if Jasmine even tried to help the family. Secondly for Khushveer Virk, he also likes Tejo because of above selflessness and the fact that she shares his ideals and dreams. His love her her would also be conditional. The day her dream changes, I doubt Khushveer will give her as much respect. He does the same with his own kids, Tejo is still a bahu-beti hybrid. This is also why they want to stop the divorce and the justification of how will Tejo face the society feels lame. They want a bahu to serve them and love them unconditionally so they give her beti tag which is all she will need to do that, in fact bahu would also make her behave the same. She is after all ideal, stands up to cheating spouse and has self respect but has all kindness in the world to go live in that house and dutifully serve her elders. ITV cannot show normal people who can behave selfishly at times as FL because then how will they get TRPs.

Note: This makes it seem like they only want Tejo to serve them and they will treat her as servants. That is not true. They will give her a lot of respect. But that is as long as she behaves nicely with them and does things that Khushveer mostly approves. If she behaves a little selfishly or does something they don't approve of I doubt they will treat her the same. They aren't absolute evil just a bit more like Sandhus. Sandhus have Jasmine soft spot, Gurpreet will have Fateh. Probably the Sandhus' love is a little more unconditional because she is their daughter after all and they have so far forgiven Jasmine for everything but even that will not be the case with the Virks.

Because of the contents of the show I had a negative perception of the audience as well(mostly because of fans on sm and not If) but u guys changed it.

The love that tejo is getting from fateh's fam is conditional. It will continue as long as she listens to them. The moment she thinks about herself, her future, maybe moving on with someone else they will remind her of how much they supported her during her bad times. They love her because she is the ideal bahu for them, not because she is tejo.

Personally speaking Fatejo was underdeveloped. We all could see potential but the consummation and everything was rushed.

Not to take anyone's side but I am angry at the difference in treatment of fateh and jasmine

Both of them are equally at fault(I would personally say fateh is more as he consummated with her and did not want to tell her whereas jasmine did to a certain extent) . But jasmine is made to fell like his mistress but fateh after the initial firing is not made to feel like an outsider. According to episode updates tejo will do arti with Fateh. This really irks me.

And, isn't this EXACTLY what Indian mentality expects of a woman? Be our twisted version of Sati savitri? Be our version of Shakuntala? Be all forgiving? Be self sacrificing? Be everything the world expect you to be?

A wife should always forgive her husband? Why? Because rishta kaun thodta hai aise baaton pe? Cheat hi toh kiya hai, thodi na iski jaan le li?

A mother should always forgive her disobidient and criminal children? Why? Because baache hi toh hai, kya hua agar rape/khoon/violence kiya toh, ek maa kaise apne baache ko chhod sakti hai?

A daughter in law should always tolerate the abuse by her inlaws? Why? Because pati toh bhagwan hai, his family is MORE important than yours, so how can you even speak against them?

A daughter should always keep quiet for the sake of her families honor? Why? Because Beti toh ghar ki maryada hai, how can you tell the world if she has been assaulted or done wrong by any man, ghar ka ya hoga? Family ka naam ka kya hoga?

All THIS are the exact reasons why Tejo still continues to stay in that house. For the sake of her new father, Khushveer and his family.

And the thing they are MORE worried about is how this will impact their family to the point they will nullify the divorce that gives her FREEDOM from such a wretched man!

But, phir bhi, Sherni Tejo will continue to put up with all this shit for them and her own family.. while throwing 4-5 dialogues in every other scene towards Fateh and Jaso

First of all, Tejo, THIS Family and YOUR own family have time and time again ruined your life for their own betterment.

Secondly, WHY would any self respecting and strong woman want to stay in the same house as her husband and his mistress who is her sister?

And lastly, after every scene of Tejo blasting at those fools they make her show heart broken expressions at Fateh and her repeated dialogue about how he will regret it when he sees Jasso's "TRUE FACE"... so yes, I think you have your answer about where this is headed 😆

I feel sad that Tejo had the potential to be different like every other ITV FL out there.

But, nah, it's gone now. She is going to be like every mahaan FL who will continue to keep up appearances for the sake of her inlaws and family because khud ka toh kuch feelings ya zindagi naam ka cheez hai nahi, bas family, society, kutte, billi ko khush rakho 🤪

I saw someone mentioning Anupama, honestly, that's a bad example! She still stays in the house with her cheating husband and his side chick. I mean why would any woman want to suffer that??

Why should it EVER be expected of a woman? Would Anupama/Tejo/any FL ka naam dal do (same hi toh hai saare) be accepted if they come tomorrow with a boyfriend and ask to be allowed to stay in their house?

Have you seen any movie or show which has depicted women having EMA and it been forgiven or accepted by society? NOT A SINGLE ONE.

Do you see the number of movies where men have multiple wives and have EMA for laughs then they are forgiven at the end by everyone? EVERY single comedy movie by indian film industry.

Anyway, sorry... I get so triggered by this topic 😆 The double standards just blows my mind.

If you wanna see a GOOD show which actually stands up for women, promotes feminism, has a male lead that encourages his wife at every step to be better than him, speaks out against domestic abuse, rape, violence, oppression of women then watch Barrister Babu.

Yesterday, I watched a brilliant episode where they highlighted how this very society normalizes abuse against women and how the ML and FL called out every single person for being such two faced people who worship Durga Maa in the temple but stay quiet when they see women being abused in their own homes.

Aise show dekhne ke baad na.. ITV se vishwas udd jata hai ke how can people not watch a show that promotes equality, feminism and sends a positive message but they will put all this abusive shows on ITV at the top of their lists

Barrister babu is ❤. I hate people don't talk about that show . It is one of the most progressive shows right now on itv but people ignore it . 😭

@bold actually it's not lame, if you take a look at both tejo and jasmine's history then both of them have a history of broken marriages, Jasmine because of her own folly but Tejo due to circumstances like getting defrauded by that Jass and then having her home wrecked by her own sister. Which decent family would want a woman like that as the DIL even though she is not the one at fault?

In arrange marriages all of these factors get considered by the prospective groom parents, forget arranged marriages even when it comes to love marriages the parents consider it and reject the bride calling them unlucky and what not.

@bold-your and mine definition of decent is different. If a family sees that a girl is good and is a victim of circumstances then no fam should reject the girl.

Also the underlying message here is it is better to have an abusive marriage than get a divorce. Which is pretty pathetic.

I’m not denying that it is an issue. I just feel like the real motive was to save family name and keep Tejo. She may not be happy after divorce but she won’t be happy being married to Fateh as well. If they care about het so much they should give her the choices and let her make the decision.
