Again, Raghav has seen deaths in his life, he might be hard to it. It's not healthy cause he trembles when it comes Keerthi, Amma or Pallavi.
Let be practical for a change:
What Raghav needs is counselling, honestly. He's been through a lot, a real lot. Grief, guilt, trauma, abandonment. He's continuing to carry the baggage all along and with such heavy things in his mind, he cannot live through it for a long time. It will affect his relationships, his surroundings and definitely it will affect himself.
Pallavi is a human too, she might be going through a lot in terms of emotions. Understanding Raghav will become more difficult.
Abi the death will impact only depending on how close you are to the person.
For Pallavi, she knew Abhishek and he died in front of her eyes. These two things will not allow her to look past his fault.
For Raghav, he won't show much emotion to other than his inner circle (in his confession he clearly told that he doesn't let anyone come in this circle easily), so his reaction came across as cold. Also, if he felt the burden of guilt, his reaction would be different. Similarly, if it was Nikhil who died, the reaction from Pallavi would have been worse.
The makers are smart enough to introduce someone who Pals knew and make him die before her so that she will find it that difficult to let it slide.
Also, totally agree with you that he needs counselling for this grief and trauma. He looked away today when amma remembered how she lost her family. The guilt is still there and fresh.
