Gurpreet's State of Mind

Someone help me understand Gurpreet's state of mind.

When she went against Khusbeer, these are some questions that came into my mind.

1. Is she against Khusbeer ousting out Fateh out of guilt that she was/is not able to do anything for Simmi?

2. Or is she just being a mother who refuses to lose another child from the family even though it means supporting his wrongdoing?

3. Or she still hasn't warmed up for Tejo and somewhere feels that Fateh's accusation on Tejo's character may somewhat be true? after all, she is the one who planted the seed of suspicion in Fateh's head.

4. Or has she, despite being a woman and a mother of two daughters herself, not been able to feel or relate to what Tejo must be going through?

I was a lot disappointed with her giving the leeway to Fateh. Even drama queen Maachi had more sense than Gurpreet. She firmly stopped Fateh from entering the room in Jasmine was sleeping at night and even questioned and taunted him letting Jasmine stay in Fateh and Tejo's bedroom. This was again so uncalled for from Fateh. He could have put her in a guest room but he decided his bedroom was the best place. He had no hint of guilt whatsoever!

Anyway, that aside, am still thinking about what is Gurpreet thinking!!

She is a typical saas wali saas. Even if bahu brings moon on earth she will go to her son only.

I know this breed of mother in laws very well .Have one and seen many from my friends. They are good to their daughter in laws only till their son is happy with them. Once their son show dissatisfaction they become suspicious too.

I am not saying they are bad person or cannot appreciate goodness of their daughter in laws. Obviously they can and do it too . But they are faithful only to their sons.

A daughter in law can never become a daughter and neither can a mother in law become a mother. Exceptions do exist . I don't deny it . But i am saying what's common.

interesting POVs It's sad to see women take many roles as a wife, daughter, mother etc and in the process, forgetting to be a woman and a compassionate human overall.

I feel she is just being a mother. She knows things have gone out of hand and it is only because of her son. She understands what Tejo is going through, that Fateh is wrong and Jasmine is the wrong choice of her son. But she just doesn't want to lose that son as well having already lost Simran.

I feel another reason in addition to to this is the fact that she acknowledged that the families also did wrong by prioritizing "ghar ki izzat" over their children's feelings which has also played a big part in this affair track. No one else is admitting that they did wrong by forcing kids to marry. What could one expect from such forced relationship? Even if they did live happily, that would not make the forced decision right. It was forced and it would always be wrong regardless of whether Fatejo end up loving each other or not. So she feels only blaming Fateh is wrong when they also wronged him by forcing him to marry Tejo inspite of knowing his love for Jasmine. And I agree. JasFa are wrong, but they are not the only ones to be blamed here.
