The script was not worthy of Aishwarya. However, had she starred in it, the film would have been a box office hit and Aishwarya would have won all the awards that season.

It would have been the perfect retribution for her role as Jodhaa losing in 2008 to Priyanka in Madhur Bhandarkar's previous film, Fashion. I would not be surprised if Madhur Bhandarkar deliberately chose to cast Aishwarya in his next movie as he recognized the superior talent that would help his film fly. Settling for Kareena ensured it would be completely forgotten.
