I’m inclined to believe he’s a cop as well. Maybe he is the heir of a rich family (ITV ML’s are usually rich) but was mistreated by them in his growing years/after the death of his parents.

Perhaps he ran away and was taken in by a cop (who knows Dadaji’s friend - explains why he trusts Pritam so much) and trained to be a tough cop. He is okay with getting his hands dirty and stays undercover most of the time.

Seeing a happy family reminds him of the ill treatment and abuse by his own family. The feeling of being neglected. I’m guessing whenever the Sakhuja’s will neglect him, he will feel bad without wanting to. We might even see him craving for the love given to Kabir, Angad, Amrita and Soni 💔

I hope it’s not the cliched story of a cop who lost his pregnant wife. It’s been done to death. He doesn’t seem to be triggered by a pregnant Amrita per say. I think his reaction came from watching them dance and sing around her. But he was being protective when TuTu Aunty mentioned the baby so it’s still a possibility. It could be a mix of both situations.

Hoping for some clarity soon

It would make the story more interesting if he's an undercover cop because once she finds out, she might be afraid for his safety after being widowed once.

I wonder if Pritams wife and Amritas husband have some kind of link?

It seems like Pritams was married or in love with someone & she may have died...maybe due to Covid? Maybe due to fake drugs given for her treatment? Amritas husband was a doctor (I firmly believe he is alive) so he could have been falsely accused or is even working with Pritam to uncover this counterfeit drug racket

However Pritam has no idea Amrita is the wife of Karan

I feel like they are all connected somehow

I have a feeling he is definitely some kind of undercover cop!!! Given the fact that he knows the IPC section by heart.

Someone who has seen Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha on Colors would probably agree to the fact that the nok jok of the jodi in the beginning, starting off on the wrong foot, the male protagonist who is notorious in the beginning and is in a risky profession, the female protagonist who is a widow, staying in the same shareefo wala mohalla, all of this is vaguely and eerily similar to this series. 😈
