Dev is the best husband if you minus Ishwary from his life. He himself isn't responsible for anything, can't stop his mom whenever she is on mission destruction. Even after years when he's a father of 3 kids, 8 years separation, divorce, remarriage, but he can't point at his mom and just say 'You are wrong.'

He is very much aware about the fact his mom is toxic and her behavior isn't normal, but not ready to acknowledge it. And then he complaints that Bijoy has always judged him, any normal person would do that.

I guess I didn't frame the sentence correctly

If you remove Ishwary, he would have been the best husband. (Assumption)

Yes he is a best husband but it takes a mental toll on his life partner..he is not consciously hurting her but subconsciously he is.

Men especially men of our subcontinent dont delve into their deeper selves to explore these questions...they only think by earning money and taking responsibilities they are doing big favour to their family and wife.

If Sona had been less educated or typical homemaker she would had endured but she isnt .

Thats the point.

educated or not, wife working in the house or outside, deserves all the respect, credit, love & support PERIOD.

I have recently heard a 70 yrs young educated, successful professional woman saying “at least my husband doesn’t abuse me though he doesn’t help me at all with anything” 😳 she felt she was lucky to be able to spend money as she wishes to. She does everything for 2 of them. He doesn’t lift a finger & he is decade older to her.
what I don’t get is why is some women hold such a low standards about how husband or marriage partnership should be. As long as no abuse woman should thank god 😳🙄🙁

Also Dev and Sona were always misfits for each other .barring love , they lacked everything that a healthy marriage should have , respect , understanding , compatibility and trust .

That's something Bijoy warned Sonakshi of always but then she was too giddy in love to see the reality back then and now there is just too much at stake .

Dev has the protector and man of the house complex , so for him to have an educated , independent woman as a wife / partner , who isn't just happy with warming his bed and cooking for him was gonna be difficult . Same with Sona . She's brought up in a completely different environment.

Where i have said less educated person dont deserve respect ..in the context of Sona I am saying she isnt financially dependent on Dev so she doesn't need to be a typical sacrificial woman.

The problem is rot with our society ..for us being divorced is a taboo but a broken distant family isnt .

Many of the women dont leave their marriages because they dont want their children to suffer because in our society physical needs are more important than emotional needs ..we tend to brush up such issues under carpet by saying ..tu kya hua woh apni zimmidari tu nibha raha hai .

you misread-misunderstood my post.

Reread and will make sense.

All I am saying is those women who may not be well educated or professionals but are homemakers and working so hard @ home deserves respect, acknowledgement and credit. They are also working hard just not sitting at home doing nothing. to run a family with kids, cooking & housework is not an easy job.
