Thanks for this post!

I expressed the same concerns in the EDT but I will repeat some here.

If they want to show people hitting each other, that's their call (I doubt they will listen to our feedback), but what bothers me is making it appear as if it's comedy. It never is funny no matter who's hitting and who's being hit.

And as many have said, if the roles/genders were reversed the backlash would have been much more severe. Speaking of spouses, I just cannot see how you maintain dignity in a relationship if there is violence which is not just easily forgotten the next day but also normalized. If you must still show it as meaningful to the scene, just cut out the comedy background score. That's the least they can do.

Mhrw has a history of showing violence with no proper follow-up. Truck, slap fest, mms incidents etc .

Makers need to build on their execution skills; in the pursuit of ‘speed’, they leave a lot of things open-ended and unfinished.

Nowadays such things don’t even bother me, I expect Raghav to pull out guns impulsively out of drawers, Pallavi to bring broom/wiper/ characters to shoot bullet in roof, slap each other etc, it’s so normal in MHRW at this point that I did even mention this to someone yesterday that Raghav will get beaten up if she finds out he’s Swapnil in disguised especially after that phone call because girl is mentally tortured to that extent and knowing laziness of writers they’ll just add broom scene to convey depth of Pallavi’s feelings of anger, disappointment and frustration as acche Dialogues likhna bore karta hai humare writers ko 😆

Coming to today’s episode:

Pallavi's breakdown, dissatisfaction, fragile state of mind, annoyance, and disappointment etc were all conveyed so well by Shivangi that a stick-beating scene was completely unnecessary.

What a bad timing if it was added to provide humorous relief. They were discussing a serious issue—her mental health—and this was not the place to add unnecessary comedy and ruin the sequence's entire purpose.

The sequence would have been great without the stick-beating scene, but now the entire focus has shifted from her mental health to stick-beating.🤔

I hate how they always add unnecessary comic scenes in good romantic & emotional scenes 👎🏼 this kind of tadka is completely unnecessary and stupid .

Agreed. I thought the slapfest & beating days were over with! The supposed comic relief in the show these days is beyond me. The show is suffering from the serious lack of tying up important loose ends in order to maintain continuity. Pallavi & Raghav need to have heartfelt talks about many issues. Many times the scene just ends abruptly. These days I keep my expectations at ground level before I watch.

@ bold, I completely agree with this. She was expressing her fears and pain to her husband as well as her frustration and disappointment in him, which was the perfect reaction. The beating wasn't necessary but if they did want to add it then they didn't need to make it humorous. I agree with you that sometimes they insert comedy in the most inopportune moments that kill the vibe of the scene.

Raghav has been insensitive and distracted, letting his hatred of Mandaar get in the way of fulfilling the purpose of his stay at D-house. She took the risk to sneak out and meet him, hear his promise of his arrival, yet it takes two days and she still finds out accidentally instead of him proactively going to tell her. If he couldn't do it himself, he could have always sent Rama.

I would have preferred her rant to go on and for her to even scream at him further for disappointing her if necessary. Would have made the scene much more effective. I remember when she threw stones at his car or when she grabbed his collar after Sanki threw her out of the house. Those scenes were quite effective and Pallavi's emotions were well-expressed.

As for not focusing on her mental health, I'm still waiting for that long-overdue breakdown of hers because she's been subject to such extreme situations for the past few months/years but has been holding it in. When are they going to show this?

Wahh Appi aapke aaj ke thread pe itna response, itne pages fill ho gye🤪

Anyways!😊

Glad that you made this post!

Makers should stop this now seriously! It wasn't funny at all!

It wasn't needed to be honest! Har time apna gussa, apna frustration nikalne ke liye kisi ko beat karna that too with stick, really a bad choice! Especially tab jab aapke words, aapke expressions and feelings powerful ho toh there is no need to express your anger and frustration through beating session and all!

Come on makers grow up! Yahi message dena chahte ho aap, through your show audience ko? It wasn't needed! Totally baseless!

I seriously didn't like this, it wasn't funny at all upar se adding funny bg music, spoil the whole emotions, they were feeling that time(at least for me)

And about Raghav, he also shouldn't raised raised his hand at the first place!

yup also he haven't apologize to Farhad yet! Sab bhool bhool🤔

Ughh all i want to say to Makers is, jab apni frustration gussa bol ke nikala ja sakta hai toh stick, jhadoo or wiper ki jarurat nahi hai! Har time cheeje funny nahi lagti hai. Agar aapke pas dialogue writer kam padh rahe hai toh mujhe lelo😊

Period.

I agree with your post Samreen.

I wish they didn't show her use a danda to hit him. The danda was big and hard and I am sure hurt Raghav. They could have shown several other things - broom, grabbing collar, yelling or hitting his chest. All of it would have been ok as she was extremely emotional and needed to vent out.

I also didn't like Raghav raising his hand to hit her (they have shown this once earlier as well). I think it is high time the makers stop showing violence that does not add to the storyline or narrative. This is irrespective of genders because violence in any form or manner is not acceptable.

I hope the makers realize it is not funny to make Pallavi hit Raghav - don ko biwi se mar padi. I love how Raghav indulges her but every time it doesn't sit well.

I also have reservations with all the other times violence was so casually brushed off in this show (with Raghav, Pallavi and Keerti). But since the topic is about today I will not digress.

I feel for you as you have to make such social causes posts daily as makers don't realize how casually they are treating sensitive subjects

Agree with your post. Today's dandha session was painful to watch.

Bharati Singh and Harsh Limbachaaya are not the main leads of MehndiHaiRachneWaali

When will Sikku understand that our show is not comedy circus.

Exactly man! I donot like this constant comedic transformation of physical violence. This is not funny. Just because he is a man doesn't give anyone a pass at hitting him constantly even if said person is his wife. And that raising of hand was completely unnecessary and chauvinistic. Just shouting at her would've been enough.

i too was wondering same thing...

at start...it was all the slaps Raghav kept on receiving ( few were deserved him that time), not all though..

now this beatings r being repeated on him..

that slight slap by Pallu to him, was good😳, when he said sorry, i wont do it again

Dts the writers idea of funny unfortunately. When they run out of ideas for humor ......they insert one such scene. After the jhadu scene.......found all others repeatitive and unnecessary.

I get ur point though.....wid role reversal it wouldnt look funny at all. But some girls do hv the habit of hitting frnds when they are annoyed by them. Nobody hits wid a broom or stick but hitting wid hands is not uncommon. Pallavi seems to like more stronger weapons.

But yes its getting too much these day. Needs to stop.
