I think the disconnect FD is having is that we, even as Pallavi's fans, cannot disregard what she did. Abuse is abuse. It is not so subjective as some other topics that have been discussed in the MF. We can't call it anything but that. And then those who are having issues with P today, who I also assume are largely Raghav's fans, can't forget that he almost slapped her - twice now, he tied her to a chair and almost killed her, he's grabbed her forcefully, once to even leave a bruise, etc. etc. etc. If P could forgive him for all of that, R, who seems to not even care, and even borderline like, what she did, why is anyone arguing on behalf of him?
Abuse, as we know it, is not seen that way in the show and that's what we need to remember.
WE are not the characters. In their show universe - as you said - it's acceptable. So many things are more acceptable than they would be IRL. IRL I don't think a woman such as Pallavi would ever fall that quickly in love with a man like Raghav. I don't think she would've truly moved past all that he did to her. IRL it's NOT ok that Raghav slapped his sister, even if we all hate her. IRL A LOT of the show would not fly. Including Raghav raising his hands at Pallavi twice in anger, and Pallavi hitting him twice with an object.
Although I've said countless times we all connect/disconnect with the show based our own IRL experiences that shape who we are, we cannot hold the characters accountable for what is normal in their show.
If we cannot accept what a character themselves are ok with/ have no issue with, then it's best to move on from the show. After now watching two shows where women beating men with a stick/object was viewed as ok in the show, I've realized this could be more of a culturally acceptable thing. SO, for me to make an issue of it bc I'm uncomfortable with it, there's just no point. I can't change the culture, I'm not even really a part of it. If I don't like it, I simply won't watch.

While I didn’t like Pallavi beating him with the stick (but I understand this is ITV and it’s more acceptable to see that ) and I didn’t like (at all) that Raghav’s hand went up (and it was definitely poised to slap her) … I’ve realized that ITV dramatizes everything. We ALL need to stop looking at the show as if we’re the characters. (Should I put that in the edt or is it not worth it ? LOL).
Go ahead with the EDT thing, you are making so much sense.
