Chapter 3

Raavi entered to the bedroom where Shivin was asleep, emotionally and physically drained. She was overwhelmed with pain. Tears stung her eyes as Shiva's words washed over her yet again. She couldn't believe they were indulged in a blame game few minutes ago. They didn't argue on what is wrong and what is right but they fought on who is wrong and who is right. She pulled a sleeping Shivin near her and didn't realise when she dozed up.

Shiva sat with a thud on the bed. He realised everything that had happened was because of him. He always messed up. She was tired of proving her loyalty for him everytime. Again, it was his fault. Again, Raavi had suffered because of him. Because of his mistakes. He made her life miserable. He made everything in their life miserable. Uable to resist the urge to see Raavi, he walked towards her room

Shiva walked in to the most beautiful scene he had laid his eyes on in last four years. He stood at the door of the room and see the son and the mother sleeping adorably. Their slight snores reached his ears and an involuntary smile crept on his lips.

He moved inside gazing at the adorable sight and didn't realise his hand hiting the vase and it falling down. It broke into pieces breaking Raavi's sleep. Both Raavi and Shiva looked at the vase first, then towards each other and then Shivin. His snoring had stopped but he was still asleep. Shiva stood there as his eyes were trapped in the beautiful pools of hazel that stood across from him. Raavi didn't move, yet her breathing increased. Shivin snored again which caused her to break out of the trance she was immersed in. She dropped her gaze away from Shiva as her cheeks colored in a deep red.

Raavi had forgotten how it felt to be admired by her bhootnath. The first and last time she felt him admiring her was the night they slept together.

Shiva broke out the trance he was in and made himself focus on what had to be done.

"R...Ra..Raavi..." He struggled to speak. She didn't even look up at his attempts. Shiva took a step closer which Raavi then acknowledged with a slight head turn. This boosted his confidence and he strode over to where she stood.

She looked up slowly trying to decipher the thoughts that hid in his chocolate eyes. There was something that kept flashing through his eyes though. A sort of uncertainty, or was it regret? Raavi furrowed her brows as she tried to read his eyes.

Shiva lost his train of thought as Raavi looked up to gaze into his eyes. She was trying to read them and furrowed her brows in concentration.

"Raavi, I'm... I'm sorry for everything, I was... just... I'm sorry." This sorry was nothing in comparison to the list of things he had to apologize for, but Shiva felt it was a start. "And also for shouting at you earlier."

Raavi was surprised. It took her a moment to realize that Shiva Pandya was actually asking for forgiveness. As surprising as it was, she realized that this sorry was a genuine one.

She looked as Shiva moved towards Shivin and sat beside him. He reached down and placed a kiss on top of his son's forehead. Raavi dropped her eyes as tears sprang into her eyes. She quickly blinked them away.

She slowly made her way towards Shiva and Shivin, and on Shivin's other side.

"I am ready to wait if you need time to forgive me." Shiva said in a lighter tone. "He has my hair, your eyes, my nose and your smile."

Raavi smiled at his words. As Shiva's eyes were filled with love, Raavi saw the first hint of the man she had fallen in love with a long time ago.

"Thanks for naming him Shivin." Shiva said looking onti her eyes.

"Don't be mad, Shiva." Raavi said as she kept her hand in his. "He is ours."

Shiva and Raavi didn't know what struck them. They froze like electric current pass through their spine as their bodies came into contact for the first time after such a long time. Unspoken desires, regretful mistakes, unsaid forgiveness, and a hidden love - all exchanged between them. Silently. Slowly. Simply unspoken. Only through their eyes.

Raavi stared into his eyes so longingly, yet lessons from the past held her back. It would be more than easy to forgive him right then and there and to move on, but that should not happen. She knew how she lost her judgement around Shiva. His chocolate eyes were hard to hurt. It was the only window in which any of the emotion Shiva rarely had ever showed through. She tried desperately to read them. She saw pain and something else she couldn't quite understand.

Shiva was trapped in the gaze of Raavi's hazel eyes. He saw the longing in her, her ever forgiving nature slowly creep into her eyes. Yet suddenly it was gone, replaced with the pain of what experience had taught her. Her eyes now showed pain as they frantically searched his own eyes. Their eyes were a reflection of each others'. There was guilt, sorrow, and regret in his and there was fear, love, and pain in her's. Yet they both only expressed the pain. Because that's what they had caused each other. He wanted to erase that pain from her eyes. She wanted to be the part of his broken soul. She was silent but he could hear the screams of her heart.

Raavi pulled her hand back got up from the bed, awkwardly and stood in front of the mirror. He followed her like a predator cornering his prey, and caged his arms around the mirror, making her look up at the reflection they made. His eyes were epitome of hunger, passion and desire, she didn't know how long he would hold on now.

He moved as close as he could, his own chest touching her back. His hands snaked around her, still transfixed into the mirror, he slowly and deliberately grazed every inch of her skin to make her come to the same temperature he was. He entwined his fingers into the soft ones she had. She realised her breathing getting heavier and she, going weak on her knees.
