Watching today's episode, I just wanted to commend Neil and Ayesha on their acting and how beautifully they both have enacted the characters of Virat and Sai respectively. Despite some of the situations and dialogues in the last few episodes making absolutely no sense at times, their acting somehow salvages it all. I think it is one thing to see someone act/perform on screen, but to actually have a sense of what they are feeling in the moment, is an ability only competent actors, who have a good grasp of their craft, seem to have. I think upto this point most of their scenes have been either fun banter or some incredibly loud and angry yelling matches, for the first time it was nice to see a more morose, subdued and emotional Sai and Virat.
For Neil, his portrayal brought through Virat's emotional turmoil, pain, sadness, despair, hopelessness, anguish but also very deep seated love for Sai and her shenanigans so well. The way Virat kept putting up his walls by not allowing Sai to question him, care for him and even touch him, but then instantly dropping his guard by letting her tie his hands, complying with her request to let her look after him and even listening to her jabber away. The slight hand gestures of pinching his eyes in frustration, nodding in disbelief at Sai's antics or just staring at her with those sad puppy dog eyes, I think Neil navigated it all beautifully. I have to confess even Virat's "Kaunsi anniversary? Kya hoti hai yeh anniversary? Maine toh yeh shabd pehli baar suna hai" made me laugh out loud đ...not because Neil was being funny about it, but just because of how Virat said those lines with absolute dismay on his face, like he was stating a fact and also because he was completely over it with the anniversary being rehashed again and again. Virat is a problematic character writing wise, but acting wise Neil surely elevates him đ
For Ayesha, she really nicely conveyed Sai's concern, anxiety, worry for Virat but also very beautifully expressed her pain through the hidden tears, the put on smile and a bit of self depreciation. I loved how no matter what Virat said, Sai found a way to still push back and probe him to drop his guard. The way she tied his hands was so on point with how adamant Sai is as a character to get what she wants. Same with the way she impulsively kissed him at the end, very true to character as Sai seems to never think through what she is doing or will do, she just does it based on what she feels in the moment. Ayesha also seems to have this incredible innocence to her face which really personifies Sai's genuineness and authenticity đđź
This show really fluctuates with how good or bad it can be episode by episode, but truly Neil and Ayesha seem to be steadfast in their acting/portrayal of Virat and Sai and I just hope that continues!!!
