Mandar's track was going fine as per my opinion. They just did not have to make Pallavi dumb, that's all. Raghav's breakdown and insecurities was nice, Pallavi pining for Raghav was nice and there was a great potential for these two to grow in their relationship once Raghav was done with his sulking mode and Pallavi by then would have figured out that Mandar is a weird man.

Second, they shouldn't have shown Mandar as the evil one immediately. He should not have challenged Raghav immediately. If I was executing this I would introduce Mandar as the man who's nice, well pretending to be nice, Pallavi who genuinely feels that she owes it to him, and Raghav whose sixth sense tells him something is wrong. Pallavi to be stuck at the D's house is something I would have skipped.

Then gradually, a few cracks appear between Pallavi and Raghav because their love is so new, and to make it worse, Pallavi spends a lot of time healing Mandar. Raghav gets jealous but Pallavi cannot see his jealousy because he hides it well. His sixth sense leads him to conduct a few investigations which lead him to the truth of Mandar and he tries to persuade Pallavi. She initially feels that Raghav is speaking out of jealousy but she later gets convinced after Aai's "sudden accident".

At this point, Mandar is revealed as evil. Then the challenge can begin and he can confront Raghav that he will take away Pallavi. Little does he know, Pallavi already knows he's evil.

What this would have done is that the fans would have remained a bit calm, but here, sab kuch ulta hogaya, they were forced to change because they could not see Raghav in such a state. If they mixed Raghav's state with pain, angst, jealousy but he's still his old self - sharp and resourceful, doing something about the situation, then the balance would have made fans relax. What happened here was that Raghav did not even get a chance to step up...... Pallavi's initial dedication (not blind) would not have been taken in bad light, but they decided to dumb her down completely.

I just feel overall, the Mandar track did not get them what they wanted because they introduced him as the villain too soon. That is where things went south.

Nice !!! The track could hv totally gone the way you hv written. Had they done that the story would hv shaped up so well.

I also had this plot in mind that had they not got the proper confession out before Mandar's entry......this track would hv made Raghav and Pallavi realise their feelings for each other. It could hv shown Raghav understanding what Pallavi actually means to him and Pallavi realising that inspite of all his shortcomings.....she would choose Raghav over seemingly perfect Mandar. This would also hv worked only if Mandar wasnt shown evil the very instant he arrived.

And you are right.....most people protested bcz both leads were dumbed down a lot to the villian as all powerful.

Mostly I wish the writers were brilliant enough to not just create doubt in the leads mind but also in the viewer's mind regarding mandar. It would hv been so intetesting had they kept us guessing if he was the real mandar or not and if was good or evil.

So much potential.

Stories are like a game of chess. One wrong move and BOOM!

Mandar's evilness was out just too soon, so as viewers we could see he's a horrible man and many were frustrated that Pallavi could not see it. Poor Shivangi received alot of hate for this too, out of no fault of hers. Sai also got bombarded with messages, again, out of no fault of his.

It the writers could build the doubts in our minds at the same time the leads started getting doubts, then we would all be on the same tangent. It's important to have your audience walk with the leads, hand in hand. That way people remain engaged and slowly, Mandar's reality would have been revealed. Till then, the writers had to play smartly and make us believe that he's nice, then the next day, we feel he's not nice. Build the suspense.

Oh well, now its done and dusted. I enjoyed that track in spite of the follies but the SM outburst actually spoilt it for me. I hope now they can wrap up the track pretty smoothly.

In fact, Mandar should not die, he should disappear, so its like a lingering problem over their lives. He returns with Ved and Krishna Rao. By then Pallavi's past can also be revealed, simultaneously with Raghav's past. The conflicted emotions will work wonders.....coz we have a wonderful set of actors here.

I agree, if they just showed Raghav investigating instead of getting wasted all day, then it would have been fine. Like he can drink and cry at night but in the morning, he's in his RR sharp mode.

Everyone loves RR too much.
