PART 1
It had been an hour since Raghav left for his meeting and Pallavi was already bored in the vacant house since Amma was yet to get back from the function and Pallavi had already dismissed the househelps for the day. After her loves session with Raghav, she didn't feel like leaving him but she knew how much of his work he had been compromising to be with his family lately and hence it was important npw that they understood it and pushed to work towards success more.
Dangling her legs from the sofa she switched the channels on the tv one after the other finding all these shows lame. She was right it was better to watch a million Netflix series than to watch these bland and highly dramatic indian shows. She mentally made a note to keep herself updated for the next season of the show 'The Crown' and actually make her husband watch it too but alas he was always interested in those erotic movies and shows pointing out to stuffs he would love to do to her, imaginations that would get her weak in her knees and shy away to his chest.
She looked up at the time and it still showed 8 p.m. hence Raghav was still probably gonna be out for another 2 hours or so. She bent ahead to grab her phone hoping to have a chat with Amrutha to pass her time when she realised that the battery was already dead. Blaming herself for being such an anti-social person, she hopped onto the staircase walking back inside her room to charge that damn device or else she'll have to face the wrath of her super protective husband. As she plunged in the device, her gaze fell on the neatly folded paper kept on her side table as a smile spread across her face. Raghav would be soo happy when she'll tell him of her current achievement and their future adventures. Only if she knew.
Her reverie of thoughts was soon broken by a loud sound from the hall. As if something crashed right on the ground. She knew no one was home but maybe she left something on the edge and the wind or a curtain knocked it off. With slow steps she reached down only to find her favourite vase broken on the floor as the curtains waved with high intensity. She smiled at the thought of a rainy night, just like the one she experienced some months ago after closing DSE as she wore the white saree. Another dangling sound confused her as she looked around. Nobody in sight but soon the light flickered and it went off but then turned on again.
"Watchman! Watchman!" she called out to the poor guy unaware of the fact that he laid on the floor unconsious.
"Lagta hai baarish ke mausam ki wajah se wires main kuch issue ho gaya hai. Kal Naidu se kehkar fix krwa dungi" she made a mental note as she walked inside the kitchen to inspect the dinner she made one final time. It looked perfect but unfortunately she had forgot to put the kheer in the refrigerator. She held the bowl from one hand and opened the door from the other, but soon felt a movement somewhere close to her. The steel box kept infront of her shined with a reflection as she figured a siloutte right behind her. Turning around she saw a guy standing deeply close to her as she backed off a bit.
"Kaun ho tum?" she asked but came no reply. She was about to question him again when she saw another reflexion on the shiny kitchen slab making her aware that it was not just one. But even she knew what to do in these times, she had been well informed by Raghav for such situations that might look dangerous to her.
She slid to the side still feared of the guy eyeing her as he moved closer.
"Dekho tum kaun ho sach sach batao? Aur yahan kyun aaye ho?" she asked again pulling her hand behind her as her back hit the desired slab. After getting a no reply and a good opportunity she took the steel plate from the slab and banged it on the man's head making his head rubble back as she escaped for her life. The other guys which were supposed to be on guard ran after her as she crashed from the slab to the door bringing down the kept utensils on the floor. Running for her life she escaped to her safe place, his den.
Closing the door behind her she latched it and started her search for her weapon. Raghav's once said words ringing in her ears.
'Main jaanta hai Pallavi ki tumko yeh sab nahin pasand magar mera kaam hi aisa hai ki mereko yeh sab karna padta hai. Isliye agar kabhi bhi koi bhi dangerous situation aaye toh tum mera study main akar yeh gun iss drawer ke top se nikaal lena. Main isko idhar tape se stick kr rha hai. " he had told her sometime late at night fearing for her safety as she smiled back.
Her hands fumbled with the drawer handle as she pulled it with force and ran her hands inside it.
Please Bappa let it be here, she thought.
As if Bappa answered her prayers, she found her hand touch a cold metal taped on the top of the drawer as she ripped it out. Her hands fumbling to even hold the weapon. She knew she was no Agent or police, so it was obvious that she can't tackle soo many goons or whatever they were but it might keep her safe until her Ghamandi Rao gets here to save her. But how was he supposed to know cause her phone was still in her room, switched off. She sat down on the floor as she heard the steps outside the door. People franctically searching for her asking each other where the girl went. She thought she heard 3 voices until another set of 3 were heard. Bappa!! who were they? she trembled when it struck her and she quickly placed her hand on the table pulling down the intercom phone as she dialled her husband's phone number.
"The Number you're trying to reach is not responding please try again later" she heard the computer say it for the third time. Where are you Raghav? she cried as she decided to dial Farhad's phone this time.
"Hello" Farhad picked the call on the first ring.
"Hello Farhad" she spoke only to realise that the line was already dead. Looking up she saw a guy holding the wire out from the intercom. Pulling off her fear from her face she stood up pointing the gun at him as she realised that the room was filled with 3 more men and 2 women.
"Kaun ho tum log? yahan kyun aaye ho? Kya chahte ho mujhse?" she asked in an authoritative voice walking back only to collide with a firm chest
"Shhh better yahi hoga ki tum give up krdo" a voice touched her ears as the gun was yanked away from her hand. She turned around to face the same guy she had hit on the head, a bruise forming at the place.
"Nahin" she stepped back when he held her by her hair.
"Maan jao warna tumhe hi bahut takleef hogi" he replied back.
"Chhodo mujhe. tum jaante nahin ho ki mera pati kaun hai. Raghav ko pata chala toh-" she spoke only to be interrupted by him.
"Toh woh idhar ayega aur mara jayega. Tch Tch . Kitna vishwaas hai tumhe uski herogiri par." he laughed as he signalled the others to get down while dragging her with him to the hall.
She tried protesting but all went in vain until she finally attacked on his leg and seeing an opportunity and loose in his grip she ran towards her room because running towards the main door wasn't an option anymore.
"Ayee" she heard him scream as the hit made him fumble and slip down a few stairs.
She ran fast trying to close the door when the man pushed it open again. Stumbling back she threw eveything that she could find around over at him when he caged her putting an arm around her but even she was Pallavi Raghav Rao. One swift punch from her and she thanked her brother for sending her to Self Defence classes as the guy shrieked in the pain. Pulling out a frame from the wall she banged it on his head shattering the glasses taking him down with it to the ground. She fumbled due to the few cuts but soon enough made it to her phone turning it on and running to the bathroom when something hard hit her head and the rest became black.
It was hurting to open her eyes, her head felt like it was bleeding and it was indeed when she saw droplets of blood falling on her binded hands. Her eyes trying to adjust to the dim yet bright enough light.
"Good morning" she heard a voice and looked aroung to realise that she was still home , tied on one of the dining area chairs. An army of men and women around her eyeing her with dutiful eyes.
"Inhe dekh kar daro matt yeh kuch nahin karenge" she heard the same voice again. Fixing her gaze towards the source she saw an old man standing opposite to her.
"Kaun ho tum?" she asked as the man walked with pride towards her sitting on the chair opposite to her.
"Tere pati ka guru." he replied with a sick smile.
"Main samjhi nahin." Pallavi replied being confused.
"Krishna Rao" one name and Pallavi realised the depth of the fire pit she had fallen in.
This is my first time writing something dark but i was soo excited for it. Took me a month to do the placements and get the final edit. I really wanted to post it somwhere before but the fandom was already frustrated and depressed over the initial phase of Mandaar track so i refrained from doing it. But now that the things have been getting better i thought why not share it with all of you. Do give your reviews and i promise the next part will be worth every word.
