ShiVi OS: Midnight Meetings
Notes: This is a combined story written by Mahi, Chikki, Sandy, and Avi. We started this in the AU DT, and now we're posting on the main forum for everyone to enjoy. Please no comments until the end of the story thread when "The End" is written. This is the story so far from yesterday. Next post will be the continuation story from today!
Raavi jumped from the window and landed on the road and turned to see If she had alerted her family by the ruckus she made. She smiled when she saw that all was well.
Huff
She could meet her man happily now. Her eyes twinkled as she rushed towards Pandya Niwas happily. Today she will tell him how she felt!
As Raavi entered the Pandya house with a large grin, she smiled when she noticed the three cots lined up side by side. All three of those bandhar brothers were underneath their own blankets so she didn't know who was sleeping on which cot.
But it doesn't matter. Dev sleeps in the middle cot!
She crawled over to the middle cot, excited to finally tell him her feelings. Now that she was fully graduated, she didn't have to worry about homework or school. They could officially date! And hopefully, in a few months, they would be officially married as well!
Raavi reached the middle cot, slowly lifting the blanket partially since he gripped it tightly, "I love you." When she saw him stir in his sleep, her grin widened. She brushed his hair to the side to whisper, "I've loved you ever since we were young... everything I did was to capture your attention!" She smiled, "Meet me at the store tomorrow night. I need to give you your present! Up until then, please be okay with this!" she kissed him on the forehead.
Excited, and feeling completely bubbly, Raavi rushed back to her house, unaware of the fact that she had confessed and kissed Shiva who was more than happy... relieved... thrilled to know that she felt the exact same way as him... or so he thought.
He turned to look at Dev who was sleeping in Shiva's usual cot. He knew Raavi came for Dev... but, he was also curious to see what Raavi was up to tomorrow night. He pulled his blanket to him, fully prepared to disguise himself for his meeting tomorrow.
Whole day Raavi thought about what she would say to him when he came to the shop. But she couldn’t even properly vocalise her feelings. That she loved him, was no surprise. She had always leaned towards him More. But for the first time, Raavi wondered if he loved her too. Her feelings weren’t hidden even from kids of Somnath. She had announced it loud n clear. But now that she thought of it, did he ever do the same? Raavi frowned.., And as she focussed on their past interactions, she desperately tried to search for any indication he had given regarding his feelings...
Shiva, meanwhile, didn’t understand if he should be happy or rue his fate...
He knew that this was probably the only chance he had with Raavi. Because once she knew about Dev's girlfriend (he wasn't that dumb to not recognize that Dev spent his free time chatting away with his girlfriend), she would stop coming over to his house. She would stop making a presence in his life... and he didn't know if he could handle that.
Alternatively, he didn't know whether what he was doing was the right thing. This was deception at it's finest. He was pretending to be someone he was not, just to lure her in.... She might be mad. She might cut all relations with him... but he was willing to take the shot.
As long as she was willing to give him ... the juice boy that stood on the sidelines ... a chance, all would be well. He would shower her with love. He would make her forget the world.
Shiva came to the meeting spot she announced, waiting. Minutes turned into hours... and once it was almost 2AM in the morning, he was lamenting his defeat.
She truly didn't come... she must've found out.
Meanwhile, Raavi was in her room, awake, thinking about all her encounters with Dev. She was becoming more and more unsure with herself. The first person to wish her a happy birthday from the Pandya family was never Dev... it was Shiva. Even though his wish wasn't as pretty (he would always throw a piece of cake, a plastic chipkali, or some juice while expressing his wishes), it was still a wish! The first person who comforted her when she failed a class... was Shiva as well. He didn't taunt her at all that night, simply just sitting beside her, quietly. Dev came later... making sure to talk sweetly to her...
W-why am I thinking about Shiva when I should be thinking about Dev?
But the memories that had broken the dam, refused to subside.
Shiva was the one who had faced her bullies for her, he was the one that had shielded her from harms physically, he was the one that had given hell to her maasi for calling her an orphan, he was the one that had taken her to all her tuition classes and waited till they ended to drop her back home, because the area wasn’t safe and eve teasing was its peak, he was the one that had even taught her some basic defense moves because according to him, she attracted trouble like Magnet attracted metal.
Now she wondered, ‘What had Dev done?’. He had defended her from Shiva. And she had fallen. Then how come she had forgotten Shiva’s actions? Dev and her shared a friendship and at one point she had begun to see him as more. But he hd never indicated that he saw her as more too. She had seen him as Prince Charming. But what had his education or dressing sense done for him? Nothing that the lack off hadn’t done for Shiva...
And like a bullet it hit her...
She had never loved Dev. She had admired his attributes. She had seen him through lenses of her dreams. But the reality surely was something else.
Shiva sighed as he hopelessly watched the door...
Tere aane ki khushi,
Na aane ka ghum,
Tere is qadar doori,
Seh na sakemge hum...
Yun to chaand hai tu,
Main dunya hoon maili...
Par kya karun,
Tere hone se mujhpar roshni si hai pheli,
Main ab tujhe bhulakar,
Jee bhi na sakun,
Mere dil mein basi Chahat,
Meri zindagi, mera sukoon....
