ShiVi OS: Midnight Meetings

Notes: This is a combined story written by Mahi, Chikki, Sandy, and Avi. We started this in the AU DT, and now we're posting on the main forum for everyone to enjoy. Please no comments until the end of the story thread when "The End" is written. This is the story so far from yesterday. Next post will be the continuation story from today!

Raavi jumped from the window and landed on the road and turned to see If she had alerted her family by the ruckus she made. She smiled when she saw that all was well.

Huff

She could meet her man happily now. Her eyes twinkled as she rushed towards Pandya Niwas happily. Today she will tell him how she felt!

As Raavi entered the Pandya house with a large grin, she smiled when she noticed the three cots lined up side by side. All three of those bandhar brothers were underneath their own blankets so she didn't know who was sleeping on which cot.

But it doesn't matter. Dev sleeps in the middle cot!

She crawled over to the middle cot, excited to finally tell him her feelings. Now that she was fully graduated, she didn't have to worry about homework or school. They could officially date! And hopefully, in a few months, they would be officially married as well!

Raavi reached the middle cot, slowly lifting the blanket partially since he gripped it tightly, "I love you." When she saw him stir in his sleep, her grin widened. She brushed his hair to the side to whisper, "I've loved you ever since we were young... everything I did was to capture your attention!" She smiled, "Meet me at the store tomorrow night. I need to give you your present! Up until then, please be okay with this!" she kissed him on the forehead.

Excited, and feeling completely bubbly, Raavi rushed back to her house, unaware of the fact that she had confessed and kissed Shiva who was more than happy... relieved... thrilled to know that she felt the exact same way as him... or so he thought.

He turned to look at Dev who was sleeping in Shiva's usual cot. He knew Raavi came for Dev... but, he was also curious to see what Raavi was up to tomorrow night. He pulled his blanket to him, fully prepared to disguise himself for his meeting tomorrow.

Whole day Raavi thought about what she would say to him when he came to the shop. But she couldn’t even properly vocalise her feelings. That she loved him, was no surprise. She had always leaned towards him More. But for the first time, Raavi wondered if he loved her too. Her feelings weren’t hidden even from kids of Somnath. She had announced it loud n clear. But now that she thought of it, did he ever do the same? Raavi frowned.., And as she focussed on their past interactions, she desperately tried to search for any indication he had given regarding his feelings...

Shiva, meanwhile, didn’t understand if he should be happy or rue his fate...

He knew that this was probably the only chance he had with Raavi. Because once she knew about Dev's girlfriend (he wasn't that dumb to not recognize that Dev spent his free time chatting away with his girlfriend), she would stop coming over to his house. She would stop making a presence in his life... and he didn't know if he could handle that.

Alternatively, he didn't know whether what he was doing was the right thing. This was deception at it's finest. He was pretending to be someone he was not, just to lure her in.... She might be mad. She might cut all relations with him... but he was willing to take the shot.

As long as she was willing to give him ... the juice boy that stood on the sidelines ... a chance, all would be well. He would shower her with love. He would make her forget the world.

Shiva came to the meeting spot she announced, waiting. Minutes turned into hours... and once it was almost 2AM in the morning, he was lamenting his defeat.

She truly didn't come... she must've found out.

Meanwhile, Raavi was in her room, awake, thinking about all her encounters with Dev. She was becoming more and more unsure with herself. The first person to wish her a happy birthday from the Pandya family was never Dev... it was Shiva. Even though his wish wasn't as pretty (he would always throw a piece of cake, a plastic chipkali, or some juice while expressing his wishes), it was still a wish! The first person who comforted her when she failed a class... was Shiva as well. He didn't taunt her at all that night, simply just sitting beside her, quietly. Dev came later... making sure to talk sweetly to her...

W-why am I thinking about Shiva when I should be thinking about Dev?

But the memories that had broken the dam, refused to subside.

Shiva was the one who had faced her bullies for her, he was the one that had shielded her from harms physically, he was the one that had given hell to her maasi for calling her an orphan, he was the one that had taken her to all her tuition classes and waited till they ended to drop her back home, because the area wasn’t safe and eve teasing was its peak, he was the one that had even taught her some basic defense moves because according to him, she attracted trouble like Magnet attracted metal.

Now she wondered, ‘What had Dev done?’. He had defended her from Shiva. And she had fallen. Then how come she had forgotten Shiva’s actions? Dev and her shared a friendship and at one point she had begun to see him as more. But he hd never indicated that he saw her as more too. She had seen him as Prince Charming. But what had his education or dressing sense done for him? Nothing that the lack off hadn’t done for Shiva...

And like a bullet it hit her...

She had never loved Dev. She had admired his attributes. She had seen him through lenses of her dreams. But the reality surely was something else.

Shiva sighed as he hopelessly watched the door...

Tere aane ki khushi,

Na aane ka ghum,

Tere is qadar doori,

Seh na sakemge hum...

Yun to chaand hai tu,

Main dunya hoon maili...

Par kya karun,

Tere hone se mujhpar roshni si hai pheli,

Main ab tujhe bhulakar,

Jee bhi na sakun,

Mere dil mein basi Chahat,

Meri zindagi, mera sukoon....

What am I doing standing here? Shiva sighed as he discreetly stood before her door, not knowing that Raavi had spotted him from her room.

W-what is Shiva doing here? He was dressed in blankets... completely unnecessary for the hot summer weather. She bit her lip as she watched him lost in thought. He did that silly little thing again. The thing where he clenched and unclenched his fists... he usually did that whenever he was nervous... and she wondered what could've made him so nervous tonight.

Grabbing her cellphone, she rushed out the door, fully wanting to confront him to make sure he was really there.

The second Shiva heard the door squeak open, he turned around and held the blanket over his head, quickly planning his escape route.

"Stop!" she called out.

Shiva swallowed, completely mesmerized by the magnetic pull of her voice. Regardless of how much he tried to push her away... he would come back. Whether it was to hear her voice, see her soft smiles, or become involved in the mischief she was planning. S-Shiva... now is the time to leave... if you don't leave now, she will be disappointed... He clenched his fists... it had always been Dev for her... never Shiva.

"What are you doing here?"

Without thinking, he answered, "Didn't you call me out here?"

Raavi's eyes widened. Everything she had done the previous night... it was for him?

Raavi continued looking at him wide eyed. Shiva's nervousness was converted to exasperation.

"Would you speak? Behaving like the gadhedi you are. Calling people and then being quiet"

Raavi was irritated, "I did not call you. I thought it was Dev."

Shiva became angry without knowing why, " That will never happen. You will never be anything to Dev till I live. I will burn down everything.."

Raavi- "I don't want to"

Shiva stopped his tirade. Yesterday she was professing her love and today she says she doesn't want to. A true gadhedi. Yet his heart seemed a teeny tiny bit happier at the news( a lot more though he refused to acknowledge)

Raavi frowned at him, "You never told me what you were doing here."

Shiva rolled his eyes in exasperation. The blankets fell off his shoulder, letting the cool summer breeze embrace him. Perhaps it was his mistake for not thinking far ahead.

"I wanted to destroy that gift of yours," he mentioned in deadpan, as this was the first thought he had.

Raavi stuttered, "what gift? No ..no gift at all. I had thought of a gift to Dev not you"

Shiva-" You said you didn't want Dev anymore. So the gift wouldn't have gone to him anyway. And I know you don't have the guts to do whatever you had thought"

Raavi was outraged, " I can do whatever I want."

Shiva smirked, "Can you?"

Raavi wanted to prove Shiva wrong at any cost yet did she really have the courage?

Raavi clenched her fist. Swallowing she took a step towards him, not wanting his intimidation to affect her. Shiva's smirk slowly wiped off from his face as he took a step back. Eventually, his back hit the wall and he glanced up in wonder... she wasn't backing down today.

He closed his eyes, fully expecting her to either slap him (which seemed more likely) or give him the "gift" she intended to give to Dev (which seemed very, very, very unlikely). Also, he didn't know if he could handle her gift.

However, she didn't pick either option.

"Before I show you what my gift to Dev would have been... why don't you prove to me that your worthy enough to receive the gift?"

He opened his eyes in shock. Despite going off to college, she was still the Raavi he knew and grew up with. She still had the same mischief from before. His lips curled upwards, eager to hear her proposition, "Oh yeah," he muttered as he took a step closer to her. Their bodies were flush against each other, and they were trapped in their own world. "And what do you suggest?"

She stood on her tip toes, "A game," she whispered. "Win the game, get the gift."

Her breath fanned his face and a shiver cascaded his spine as his heart sped up.

“What game?” His voice became deeper, huskier without even his intention. Raavi felt her insides melt and she wondered if she was doing the right thing. Teasing fire was never wise. Teasing Shiva was more dangerous.

“Twenty four hours. I give twenty four hours to prove yourself worth of my gift. To erase Dev’s name from my heart. To make sure I never look at anyone else...” Raavi declared. “Twelve years of hatred, you need to erase bwtween us just in some hours. Kar paaoge?” She knew what she wanted. The fire and passion in his heart had already solidified her decision but she wanted to see what he was capable of.

Shiva smirked... And took a step back. Then another. And another. Before he saluted her with his finger and turned away.

Since leaving Shiva, Raavi wondered whether her meeting with Shiva was a dream... the way he stood close to her, arms brushing her sides, voice become deeper... he was so unlike the boy she knew from the past, yet so like the Shiva she knew if his confidence was anything to go by.

She placed her hand over her heart and wondered whether the skipped beats, nervousness, tingling was related to just being around Shiva, or whether it was related to... perhaps her feeling something more for Shiva. Staring at the wall with a sigh, her eyes narrowed. Twelve years of hatred.... those couldn't be erased in just a day... Shiva... Shiva was probably not the right answer. He was just a simple speed bump.

She went to sleep peacefully, knowing that whatever he did, he would not be able to succeed.

Ping.

She frowned as she reached for her phone. Putting in her password, she frowned when she saw Shiva's text.

In front of your door... there is a present.

Raavi slowly got up with a frown. A present? She quickly got out of bed and rushed over to her front door. After opening the door, she saw a small blue box. Picking it up gently, she heard her phone ping again.

Enjoy your present!

She glanced around the vicinity, hoping to spot Shiva at least once, but she failed to see anyone around. With a frown, she closed the door and took the box to her room. Placing it on her bed, she stared at it long and hard.

The last present Shiva had given her was a toy chipkali, and she was really not looking forward to anything right now. With a frown, she slowly opened the box at a distance... just so she could toss it away in case it was a chipkali!

However, when she opened the box, a few Cadbury 5 Star Chocolates fell out. She blinked and picked up one of the chocolates, twisting and turning it in her hands... Hearing another ping, she turned around and picked up her phone.

Chocolates in case a bhoothnath comes into your dreams. Sweet dreams, Raavi.

Chocolates in case a bhoothnath comes into your dreams. Sweet dreams, Raavi.

This was actually sweet but no - Raavi will not melt with chocolates ;even though those were her favourites and the way he gave it to her made her feel so so special.

Nooo. Raavi control. Years of enmity won't be washed away by few 5stars. But it wasn't always enmity though- her bhootnath had shown her his tender side few times throughout the years too.

Wait what? Her bhootnath? Raavi, No - you are getting all muddled up.

Her phone pinged again.

Stop stressing your pea sized brain. Eat one if the chocolates and have a restful sleep. Tomorrow would be something you will never forget.

Raavi rolled her eyes at the first line but then she looked around wildly how Shiva knew. Was he able to see her somehow?

Another ping- No I am not spying on you idiot; I am able to predict you that's it

Raavi was surprised. He sure knows her too well. She can't deny though that she was very impressed and utterly delighted - this message reply to her thoughts is stuff of movies yet it is her real life. Can she squeal?!!

No. Raavi. Do not melt.

And she ate one chocolate. And messaged him-Looking forward to tomorrow Mr. Bhoothnath. Let's see if this is your confidence or overconfidence.

Ping- Be ready Raavi. By evening you will give me that gift without my asking

She frowned at her phone. Ughhh she screamed “this man is so irritating”. He is really crazy to think that!! She is not going to give in and give him her gift. She is not going to, she is not going to, she repeated like a mantra in her head. She picks up another chocolate bar and took a big bite of it. She couldn’t deny that she was curious about his plans.

She finished the chocolate bar. It was time to go to bed she needed her beauty sleep, after all she was Somnath’s most beautiful girl. She got in bed and turned her night light off. The last thing she saw when she fell asleep was the face of Shiva.

Shiva was laying on his cot with a smile on his face. He could imagine her pouting at her phone for the last messaged he sent her. She would probably ate another chocolate and scold him for sending the text. Tonight he took the first step to erase twelve years of hate and Dev. Tomorrow night it will be erased, she will be his. He closed his eyes, his last thought before he fell asleep was Raavi.

He closed his eyes, his last thought before he fell asleep was Raavi.

The early morning witnessed Shiva climbing up the window to her room. She was still sleeping. He smiled and walked towards her.

“Kumbhkaran jaisi to neend hai iski. Chalo accha hai. Main apna kaam kar deta hoon.” Shiva declared and placed a small card with a single white rose on the dressing table and then watched her sleep for some more short seconds and climbed out. He was up since a long time. He had already laid the plans for the day, now he just wanted to see if she could reach him. She wasn’t the only one who could test him. He could do it to. Lets see if she deserved his madness.

Raavi groaned as the sunlight filtering through the window Shiva had exited from broke her sleep. The curtain wasn’t in place and she cursed herself for forgetting about it last night. Sighing, because More sleep was now a far fetched dream, Raavi walked towards the bathroom and almost missed the rose. She turned towards it by chance and then a smile broke out on her face.

Rushing towards it, she picked it up and smell it happily before she saw the card. She smiled wider as she picked it up happily and opened it.

“Aye Chipkaliyon ki beauty queen... Uth gayi kya? Kitna soti hai tu? Waise jane de. Aaj bahut important din hai aur aaj tujhe main sair karaunga... Humare bachpan ki sair. Ye treasure hunt hai aur clues wo kadiyan hain jo humen jodti hain. Ye pehli kadi hai, jo tujhe tere agle clue, agli kadi ke paas le jayegi. Tu bas chalte jana... Us raste par jis raste ke aakhir mein tere liye main intezaar karunga aur fir tu decide karna ki main jeeta ya haara...

Kabhi bachpan ke melon mein,

Main aur tu ek saath the jhoole,

Nau ka tha mein saat ki thi tu

Teri hansi mujhe na bhoole.

Teri muskaan ke liye

Lad pada tha main ek ladke se,

Tu janti tak nahin hai

Par tere aansuon ki wajah se

Uske daant tode the, ek jhatke se...

Dhoondh le jake, us qisse ko,

Samet lete hain bachpan ke uss hisse ko...“

Raavi stilled. Her heart trembled and her eyes became tearful. She knew exactly well what he was referring to. She laughed amidst her tears and rushed to the bathroom. She had a treasure hint to complete. Her treasure awaited her.
