The sort of pressure they were under must have been huge with Maha CM showing how much he was interested in the fortunes of the contestants by calling Sayli and Ashish over and felicitating them.

This is my personal opinion.

This must be the reason that they had to give the trophy to Pawandeep - because if they (Sony) could not give it to the Maharashtrian girl they dare not give it to the Bengali girl. And they dare not even show it on national TV that the Bengali girl had even slightest edge over Maharshtrian girl by being first runner up and the other one was second runner up.

Liked Sayli also, but she is decent singer with good voice - but not comparable with Arunita.

Sorry, never posted in the forum before but have been reading many interesting comments. Always been a huge Lata Mangeshkar admirer - and when I heard Arunita in Saregamapa lil champs - then it was the second female voice that I just loved - she is just amazingly talented girl with beautiful voice. God, always keep her blessed. Hope and pray that we get to hear her own songs and in her own style. And I am from UP living in Delhi - so no Bengal prejudice or bias 😏🙂.

PS - No male favorite singer - they are all generally - just fine🙂.
