A significant step

Soo, I have only seen half of today's episode but honestly, loved it. The story arch seems to be making more sense now.

The way Sona was confronting Dev today was exactlyy what was needed. Showing him the mirror, the hypocracy of his and is mother's ways. That she is expected to love Ishwari like her mom and so obey her every order and decision. But Dev can get away with being disrespectful to Bijoy and commenting on Sona when she shares her problems with her own family. High time she asked how that made any sense??

Aurr the elephant in the room since the post leap the first season...did Ishwari and the house really accept Sona? Everything went uphill once Ishwari (apparently) realised that Sona was right for her son. Or did she? Or was it just because Sona had unburdened a huge weight and guilt from her shoulders? Guess we will know now why Ishwari had changed now. Definitely, that period happened because Dev and Ishwari were on the same page, and NOT because Dev had stood up for their relationship.

Finally the words were spoken that Ishwari had then come between her and Dev and now is repeating the same with her kids. She can never have independent relationships in that house. Lovee how she said 'uss Ghar mai ma aap Ka khayal rakhti hai aur tum ma Ka buss'. 😂😂 That's exactlyyyy what happens. High time the dynamics of the house changed. And the way bijoy said in the precap ki you know what you have to do, I have goosebumps ki sona is going to take a huge step now. Go sonaaa!!

What was even more noteworthy today was Dev. He was visibly disturbed by what was happening Sona's distance and her words. Didn't even reply to Ishwari when she tried to convince him to convince Sonakshi. Just said mai thak gaya hi, and he really did seem tired of it all. In the morning also, just his voice while he told Ishwari that Ayushman will be Ved Ayushman Dixit. And how he left without replying to mamaji or Ishwari words. This behaviour itself must be taking enormous strength. So low key proud of him today.

Finallyyy, the bestestttt scene of today was Sona and kids. Her three bachhas all together listening to her story. So cuteee. And ayush almost said mumma tooo, and said he missed her..both Dev and Sona have in their own way made space in ayush's heart for themselves.

What I understand then is that the distance hinted in the promos will be shows now, ayush served as a catalyst. To show how nothing had really changed in Dixit house and in fact Dev and Sona had once again grown distant. I only wish they had used some other catalyst to make this revelation other than a new baby track. That's my only issue now..

But quite excited to see this track now between dev, Sona and issue-mata

Ugh SAME!!!! I really liked the episode today, it felt like Dev in his own way is trying to draw a boundary. He fully sees that his mother is wrong, but he's unable to directly say anything after years and years of manipulative conditioning. The small acts of rebellion feel like a step in the right direction by a tormented man, and just the light in his eyes when Sona comes back home in the precap- what a fantastic performance by Shaheer.

The one thing I don't understand is why it needs to be Ved Ayushman Dixit, why Ved at all if he's against the idea of renaming him Ved? Why not "his name is Ayushman Dixit." In my opinion, there is no need to change his name but if at all, why make it Ved?

I liked today's episode too!

Dev was visibly angry when she called him Ved. But his conditioning is such that he can't lash out openly. He may reach that breaking point, as he has before, but it's been once only and once when he was drunk.

But what I don't understand is why change officially at all! Can't his home name be Ved and his mother can call him whatever. But in the world, officially, his identity should be Ayushman Dixit and Dev needed to stand for that. That's what Sona wants.

I loved Shaheer's performance today too.

@Bold - hey I just saw this after making a post about the same thing! I was very upset - the right thing to do would have been to remove Ved completely from his name. The boy wanted to retain Ayushmann as his name.

This is just a compromise to please both his mother and son - but it’s no good. Typical Dev move.

Nice episode finally. Shaheer is brilliant as the tormented son/husband/ father. Dev is really unable to figure out how to draw boundaries. Hopefully today will be a start. It needed something dramatic from sona to bring about this small change.

I have a feeling sona has come to take her kids. She had no bag or anything with her. This will hopefully push dev into some kind of rebellion.
