It was quite clear that these two were constantly getting in each other's faces from the beginning of the show as planned. Right from the stage, Pratik and Divya started quarrelling infront of KJo. Concurrently, Divya was among the last of the female contestants to be introduced, thus boosting the likelihood that she would not have a partner to begin the show.
As the show started, Pratik and Divya went all out right away. Why is this beneficial to BB? Simple - the house became divided between those who felt that Divya was over-reacting and those who felt Pratik was badtameez. Groupism works to create conflict and iss show mein conflict = TRP. Its like the Sid/Rashmi thing. Even though eventually the show ended up becoming Sid/Sana/Paras vs Asim/Rashmi, eventually the first round of groupism happened because of prior dislike between Sid and Rashmi.
Now, a few episodes after Divya has firmly made her place by proving to be a good contestant and getting a ton of spotlight opposite Pratik, while forming an opposite group to him, they have smartly played a game to give her a partner. Urfi, who is pretty much disposable for the show, is nominated instead.
Few things to note.
- Pratik + Divya started fighting right from the stage, suggesting planned storyline.
- Both actively involved themself in polarizing the house based on initial group dynamics.
- Both are ensuring to give each other screen-time bhar bhar ke.
- No matter what happens, Divya makes sure to keep Shamita in her side firmly.
- They have gotten super dirty - Divya abusing many times, Pratik mentioning her boyfriend's name. Yet they seem to get over it. Aaj toh Divya was happy that Zeeshan convinced Pratik to get them immunity.
This suggests to me that there is a larger plan being executed. I predict the problems will continue for a few weeks. Then they will begin to form a friendship. This will happen alongside a major Shamita/Divya clash. By the time the show comes to an end, Divya-Pratik will be aligned together. Maybe Varun will show up at some point as a visitor and clear things up with Pratik. Shamita will be on the other side, maybe aligned with Raqesh or Karan or someone.
BB has been desperate to recreate the magic of season 13, and the disaster of season 14's revolving door problems (Gupta's infinite entries, Kavita's entry/exit freedom, challengers, over-reliance on Rakhi) showed that they are desperate enough to try everything. This time, they are redoing the connections thing (as known in BB13 as BBFs) and are giving the Sid-Rashmi story another chance, but this time in a scripted way.
