I think it was Rishi Kapoor who said his uncle (Shammi) was the real star in the family and I completely agree! ❤️

Though I did like him in earlier movies before he adopted the Chaplinesque persona.

Barsaat, Awara, and man, he was so suave in Chori Chori!

I guess he's better off as a filmmaker, though I'm not a huge fan of his RK directed films either

Hi-5 on RK directed movies also. 😆 Not a fan at all, except Prem Rog which was purely because of Padmini and Rishi Kapoor and also the subject he took up in the movie(watched it just a couple of months ago ,btw)

It’s Shammi > Shashi >Rishi > Ranbir > Raj Kapoor for me.

True about those movies. Wonder why he had to adopt such a clownish type of acting in his later movies.

Gosh... n there is mukesh n lata ji, geeta dutt... all of their songs were beautiful...

Right! It's hard to pick a favorite singer from those times na? They were all wonderful in their own way. Though my heart goes dhak dhak in quite a different way when it comes to Rafi.

Though I don't love a lot of his songs, and I do love plenty of Kishoreda, Mannada, Mukesh, Talat, Hemantda songs.

This is a futile debate I think. It's not even a debate. People will always have their favorites but this era has so many treasures to choose from that no matter who you pick, you cannot be wrong! ❤️

I agree with you until Rishi and then comes Raj for me, and then probably no one from his family! 😆

Yeah Prem Rog was a sensitive subject. And I love Rishi K in it so so much. His role is just amazing! ❤️

Actually even Satyam Shivam Sundaram had a good subject but the execution - for me - left a lot to be desired.

This!

And it was a combination of everything - the music, the lyrics, the singing and sometimes even the emoting on screen that generated these emotions. They just reach out and grab your heart strings and never let go. There are songs that unfailingly make me cry no matter how many times I listen to them, songs that make me want to dance, sing along, laugh, sigh, and just simply soak in all those feelings that they create. Unparalled!

Seeing one of your questions in the game, I thought you were a fan. 🤓

I attempted to watch SSS but couldn’t last after the first 15 mnts. Forever fan of that song ‘Yashomati mayya se’ though.

I also tried to watch Ram teri ganga maili, which again I found severely lacking. But these are all supposed to be cinematic gems. 😳

I downloaded Paying Guest after watching a scene on YT. Gosh! I don't think I can ever get enough of the old world enchanter. 😍
