I believe individual eggs can not be transferred but only fertilized one which has potential to become eventually a baby can be transferred to a surrogate mother. In this case if Preeta can not conceive that implies the eggs cant meet fruitfully to produce a baby. So dad has to produce with someone else and later get the baby. Like in movie Chori chori chupke chupke or something like that where they hire a prostitute for that job.
That is not what the doctor said. When the doctor was talking about Preeta not being able to conceive she was referring to her womb. The doctor kept on saying her womb is weak (weird terminology). One can have the most perfect eggs in the world and still not be able to conceive.
Surrogacy is most often two types, the traditional surrogacy which was as you mentioned shown in Chori Chori Chupke Chupke or the sperm can be transferred through an apparatus to the surrogate AND the second one being gestational surrogacy, which usually happens through IVF ( in vitro fertilisation), the egg is extracted from the mother and the sperm from the father fertilised outside and the fertilised embryo is then transferred into the surrogate.
