I honestly don't know. Was his concern about Dhara or about the negative results? He's shown to have a fb with the red line on pregnancy test.

And I have hear/read of women's pain and anguish of not being able to get pregnant. However, I don't know from a guys perspective. As a women, I know, I'd be upset if I was trying to get pregnant and got negative results for a bit. So just want to extend that benefit of the doubt to Gaumbi.

Yeah but in the past he's been using english words and he does it really well. Identity crises, double cross and the phone thing mentioned so this just threw me off. Even the whole complicated and perfect thing today so I don't know lmaooo

This was what I was confused about too in the episode. He mentions not being good in English like her friends, making me think he either discontinued his studies a little earlier than we thought (and this could be a foreshadowing of the next track they show) or that he struggled in his studies because he balanced time at the store with his studies and couldn't cope.

I think instead of saying he doesn't know English, it would've been more appropriate to say he doesn't dress as stylishly as her friends or that he isn't as well-spoken as her friends. When he stopped and looked at Dev, it made me think he realized that Dev was very close to how her friends were like. Good looking, stylish, and well-spoken... which is why he paused for a brief second.

I genuinely think they are moving towards Shiva's education track after this misunderstanding where Raavi helps him which is why they alluded to that with this dialogue. I really hope he's at least 10th educated, I don't think Dhara or Gaumbi would allow him to drop out any sooner since they stressed his education in his childhood

I think what he meant was he cannot speak in English like Raavi or her friends. Knowing few english words or using phone and speaking English are two different thing

True. But he'll throw away, saying he's good the way he is.

It's one thing to have insecurities, but if there is something that's making you feel insecure, work on it to gain the confidence.

In this particular case, knowing English doesn't make one superior and not knowing it doesn't make one inferior. It's just a mode of communication and fortunately or unfortunately, that's widely used/understood than any other language universally. And that's what Raavi and her friends were used to. But if he will let his ego of not learning the language because it means to change himself come in, he'll always be insecure about it. He either needs to change the thought process and be comfortable with not knowing English, and believe it doesn't make him any less desirable, or learn the language so he's able to communicate (not because he thinks he'll become desirable).

Agree with you! I think Gaumbi's sadness is acutely linked to the negative pregnancy test. It's why the FB was placed immediately after Suman's question. From speaking to some men in the clinic, some men wish for a child just as hard as women, and some tear up when they learn of repeated negative tests. I think Gaumbi and Dhara are just excited to begin a family, and with every negative test, they realize that their dream is not that easy to achieve.

Now that Gaumbi knows the entire family is curious about the child, he has a lot more pressure than before. Every negative test doesn't just mean disappointment to him and Dhara, but also to the rest of the family.
