Reading all this discussion, I feel they should go Tamil way where Vikram will have memory loss and Saranya has to put efforts from her end to make him hers . Until now it was Virat who was taking forward this relationship so it makes sense if they show a track where Sai puts some efforts too . In KD , she got it easy . He left she followed and he agrees when she proposes .

In Tamil version , Vikram says he cannot run behind her anymore as every time he got hurt doing so and cannot be her future but just a guardian who will take care of her staying apart when Saranya questions is he not her future?I don’t know if KD had such dialogues but seeing the episodes I feel Rano royally ignored Emon atleast for few episodes

I personally am against any and all memory loss tracks because I feel they are way too overdone, and they ruin character/relationship development. It kind of gives writers a free pass to start from scratch almost... and I really don't want SaiRat to ruin all of the progress they made....which in opinion, has been the most organic I have ever seen on ITV.

I don't think that Sai has had it easy/has not put it any efforts. Virat is the one who is trying to take this relationship forward, but in my opinion, this relationship still exists because of Sai. She has forgiven him every single time he has pained her beyond measures, and she has chosen to stay with him every single time. She has put him above her own self-respect and ego... in fact, she has put him above all else in her life. She has hung on to him despite all of her insecurities, despite the fact that KBA is living in the same house and making her feel as if she interrupted some grand love story nearly every day and every night. We don't get as many monologues from Sai, but to me, it is clear that she loves Virat just as much as he loves her. She just is unable to express it in the way we see "love" as a traditional husband-wife, because she has not given herself permission to accept neither her's nor Virat's feelings.

Every single time that she has let herself believe that this relationship is fully real, that Virat could be all and fully her's... something or the other has brought her back to the "reality" that she tries to hard to defend herself against through her rough exterior. And this time, Samrat's entry will do the exact same... in fact, it will be worse than ever before for her, because she will be forced to come face to face with Virat and Pakhi's past relationship.

I'm not saying my heart isn't going to break for Virat too. Neither one of them will be right during this track, and neither one of them will be wrong...both of their perspectives and actions are going to be completely understood... in my opinion. And, yes, both of them will again say things they don't mean out of their emotional impulses, but that is nothing new. I'm not going to write more about Virat here, but I think you know that I am a SaiRat fan so I'm not prioritizing one person over the other... just wanted to comment since I disagree with what you have said about Sai!

I know Sai has put in lot of efforts to overcome the pain he has put her through time and again and she fell in love with him despite his flaws..

Though I personally feel the amnesia angle will be interesting to explore because in such a case Virat, not only forgets Sai, also forgets Pakhi. This means that there is no more hope for a bhabi to hold the torch for her devar anymore.. she will be his Vahini and nothing more.. she is completely out of their life.

Also SaiRat gets to do over everything again.. without the burden of past. Starting from the scratch, is a nice thing to explore, even for Sai.. I haven’t seen the Tamil version nor any itv dramas with such track, but in this case both Virat and Sai will get to explore their love in a entirely different perspective.. he will be free of his past and guilt and she can no longer see him as that person who once was in love with Pakhi and the person who hurt her so many times..

For him she will be a wife, with whom he shall fall in love.. For her he will be a husband who is no longer bound by the ties from his past and the person whom she fell in love with despite all his mistakes!!

I guess for me the last thing I want is for them to do it over. No matter how messy things have been for them, the way they have fallen in love has been truly beautiful to me. It has shown how 2 people can find each other in the worst of circumstances and turn the worst things into magic. And that to me, is life. Their relationship began as a duty, but ultimately there is no duty without love and there is no love without duty. They have been falling for each other this entire time. The have come so far, and their relationship wouldn’t be what it is today without all the hurdles…

I am all for memory loss track instead of Shruti track.

Agree with both can start all over again. I want to see whether Virat falls for her despite remembering anything. Most importantly there will no Pakhi in his memory as well. So no burden of Promise , farz etc...

Having said that Sai's love is very deep than what we can see. Even in her worst anger she always takes care of him. She does everything to give him maximum comfort.
