But what is ITV's and in general everyone's obsession with a confession. Why does everyone assume that once a confession is done then Boom- either there is happily ever after or you need some some life changing event like an affair or accident to move the couple's story forward.

This is ridiculous- in real life you don't really have confessions 🤦‍♀️ No "I love you, Dammit"s or full blown candlelight dinner nonsense. Mostly love comes softly 🤷‍♀️ And it is life issues that help the couples grow closer.

The OG is the same way- it is not about KM confessing at all. It is about how they tackle issues together, learn something new about each other and grow from there.

Well said! Unfortunately ITV doesn't seem to work this way, neither do shows that operate this way get TRPs.. the channel eventually axes them, sometimes even before they finish the story that they have to tell 😕
