Wow, Just finished watching the episode. Anokhi was such a force of nature, it felt like the episode had just started and it was already over.
Now for Monty and family, the lesser said the better. All of us must have had this experience of having family coming from abroad and behaving like they are superior. I am talking here about the situation some 30 years back. Now relatives from abroad dare not show the same 'superiority' complex since there has been so many of the family who have studies abroad etc. Monty family is the typical 80's NRI family behaviors. They will only act as a catalyst for Anokhi to spread her wings.
It's funny you say this as 30 years back. I see this even today when I visit Kerala. I'm not from a rural area, but not a city either, so a town! Even now, I see the 'superiority' complex those raised in North India have compared to those from the Middle East versus those of us from US/Canada/UK. I have friends/family that only stay in hotels when they visit and those that can't stand the heat or the dirt of India. The ones that have children that can't speak their native language or follow any customs. Seen plenty with marriageable age kids that have decided their children are a catch because of the passport they carry! I don't think Monty's family is atypical even now in a place like Kapurthala.
Ramesh Bhalla- typical patriarch who believes women are nothing but a burden. The way he slapped Babli and the fact she was ready to accept it shows the type of relation that exist in that family.
His rage when Anokhi came back ! If it could be touched, I bet we would all feel it. The fact that he vented his anger on the bike initially showed how much he tried to control himself, but the look that Anokhi gave him was the trigger that made him beat her up.
I'm going to reword this to say that nothing "made him beat her up" other than him going on a power trip and wanting to wield that power over someone 'weaker', especially for the 'embarrassment' he had to suffer. He's a power hungry man who didn't like being challenged by a mere girl he considers to be lesser than him. He has all the signs of a weak insecure man who can only show his manliness by treating someone else worse and showing his physical strength. I'm disgusted that this man was ever redeemed.
There are usually two possibilities in such situations, the girl should just say sorry and go to her room or stay put and face the consequences. Anokhi seems to be the second type of girl. In the process not only she endangers her life but she also risks her sister's and her mum's life in the process. id this a sign of her self respect or selfishness?
I put all the blame of this scene on Ramesh Bhalla, who felt he had the right to hit his child. I see no reason for fear. Weak men beat women to feel strong. I'd rather Anokhi take that stick and hit Ramesh with it to see how he feels.
I felt tired and beaten at the end of the episode. Since I started watching the serial quite late, and missed the intial introduction, this episode was a shock to me. Especially the violence...
Was it your first time seeing this episode? These initial episodes are why Papaji's redemption was so unsatisfactory.
Now for the \sabherwal, What a bunch of assh****, sorry for my french.
What type of people are these who are running an education institution and have the indecency to say to a person that a daughter in law and a daughter are different. My blood boiled. And this is what Shaurya has been brought up with? The two girls BEbo and Kitty, what are they learning in this type of household, that they can get away with anything?
All of Bebo and Kitty's personalities are pure Sabherwals. Shaurya is the only one who lucked out by having the Kashyap blood. After watching the treatment of their mother and bhabhi, they seem to be the instigators. Tej didn't find that social media post himself, the twins clearly brought it to him. And at the mention of their social media presence, they snuck away. I would've loved to see Tej swipe over and see what videos his nieces are making.
I am still in shock with the violence of Ramesh Bhallah.
