Today's episode was one huge confession. Yes, they didn't explicitly say anything, but they didn't have to. They both understood each other perfectly.
From the wedding flashbacks to Sai falling into Virat's arms once again... so much and yet so little has changed. They are both in love today, but they have deeply cared for each other and been connected since the moment they laid eyes on each other. When Sai takes the stool and wants to get the suitcase on her own, Virat lets her. But, he stands behind her, as her protector, and is there to catch her even when she doesn't want him to. He respects her boundaries, and immediately lets go, watching her step down on her own. But, he holds the cabinet instead, making sure that she does not fall. This is the nature of his love. It is not forceful. It is gentle, and it is slow. It is the sort of love that is so infinite that he will wait an entire eternity for her if he needs to.
And despite the condition he was in, Virat did not fail to thank Sai for coming home even if it was a little bit... for making his family happy...
Throughout the first half of the episode, Virat was trying to restrain himself from saying too much. He wanted Sai's decision to be entirely her own. He was apologizing for saying too much, because he did not feel worthy of stopping her. He felt as though he had entirely failed her. But, seeing him in this state, Sai had already made up her mind to stay. It looked like she had died 100 times over when he said that he could not breathe will she was suffering in the hospital. And, the second she saw the tears on her abba's photo, she broke. No matter how much pain Virat has caused her, she cannot see him hurting...not even a little bit.
The beautiful thing was, every time Virat said Sai should leave, she was visibly fuming... there was nothing more that she wanted than for him to stop her and to assert his rights on her...it wasn't an apology she was seeking, because she had forgiven him long back...it was a confirmation that he wants her like she wants him...
Then, no matter how hard Virat has tried to restrain himself, he lets all his emotions out. Not just the emotions from this past incident, but the guilt and regret he has been harboring inside of him perhaps even since the start of their relationship. He truly does not feel like he deserves the woman standing in front of him... the woman who is his entire world. And, in the end, it is abba who once again ties them together. Virat's conversation with abba was heartbreaking. He is begging him to tell Sai to stay, and ultimately that is what pushes Sai over the edge... in the moment she sees that Virat remembers abba's death anniversary, Sai knows that Virat loves her. It doesn't matter whether it is conscious or how long this realization will last, but the look on her face said it all. As she looks from abba's photo up to Virat, and back to abba's photo, she thanked the universe and softy smiled to herself... abba left her with the greatest gift of all...
When Virat tells Sai that he has thought about killing himself, Sai cannot bear the thought. She knows what the pain is of losing the one who means everything to you, and she has already gone through it once. She, under no circumstances can go through that again. She needs Virat like a flower needs the sun.
The hug. Both of them were clinging on to each other for dear life. They were so close that even air could not pass through. The sheer relief on Virat's face. He was finally able to breath again, taking in the love of his life...pouring in every ounce of her. The way in which Sai was gently rubbing his back, assuring him that she is here... she is with him...it will all be okay...
The way in which Sai wipes Virat's tears, cleans his face with her dupatta, and fixes his shirt. She knows he is broken and she is the only one who can put him back together. She cannot see him like this... because he is her strength, and without him, she is nothing. With every stroke of her's on his face, you could literally see the love flooding out....
We finally got the forehead kiss we have been waiting for...and it was simply perfect. Virat did not hesitate for even a single second. He went right in, and she did not flinch even the slightest at his touch... she was awaiting it. The satisfaction that both of them were experiencing in that moment. This is where they belong.
Virat's smile when Sai started laughing at his concern about what Pulkit thinks of him. His Sai is back. He had been waiting to see her eyes sparkle with that laughter that has become his air.
The entire phone conversation was a nice touch. Pulkit annoyed me a lot in the past few episodes, but at the end of the day, he was happy to see Sai and Virat back together. All along, he knew that they belong with each other and no where else. Sai stepped into the conversation right when Pulkit started accusing Virat, because she will defend him no matter what. She will have no one talking badly about her Virat Sir.
I am so thankful that Pakhi was limited in today's episode. Of course she had to enter right at the hug, but I will take it. She left promptly, and I don't know if it will last, but seems like she has finally realized Virat has no spot for her in his life...
All in all, I don't know what is going to happen moving forward...how much creativity Vankar is going to use or not...but, one thing is certain. They may not realize it explicitly still, but they know that they are each other's everything. Labels have always been a messy situation for them, but they can feel that there is nothing more real than whatever this is. I can only hope that this magic is not butchered by blind copy-paste.
In terms of the precap, I cannot wait to see Sai and Virat at the mandir for abba's barsi. It will be a beautiful scene to watch. Another thank you to the makers for realizing how crucial this is, as it would have simply made no sense for Virat to not care. Also, it was so adorable how nervous Virat was getting asking Sai to come along on the trip. Of course, this is yet another misunderstanding brewing, and once again, both of them will be fully justified. I can hope hope that it does not result in another step backwards....
Neil and Ayesha absolutely blew us all away once again...
