I think it was only because of Arbaaz's character that she became a sensation overnight and a supermodel in the first place.Before that she was struggling and barely had contacts except her gay designer friend in the fashion industry. She wasn't exactly in demand or popular till she became the face of his company Panache, now that's another thing that he only did such a huge favour on her because of his personal interest in her, first he directly made her the show stopper of a veteran designer's fashion show without consulting him and fully knowing that she was new in the profession. And when that blew up, and she was crying and all in front of him, so BAM the next day she was the replacement for Shonali So he definitely was a huge reason for her success because he literally made her famous in a day and that too out of pity and his "personal reasons".

Exploitation? PC's character was a first-grade ho who jumped into bed with a married man to get ahead in her professional life. Having a vagina does not automatically make you a victim, sorry to burst your bubble. 😉

Maybe. It probably wouldn't have been as easy and as quick for her but we can't say for sure she wouldn't have. I feel there was a big possibility she would have made it on her own and she would've even stayed there longer had Arbaaz not taken such an interest in her that ended up having such a negative impact on her long term. Because of Arbaaz she rose too fast without struggle so it took away her chance to be humble and to be grateful. Her instant rise without struggle made her feel the whole world revolved around her and everyone was beneath her, which ended up hurting her. Had she done it the normal way she would've probably valued the people in her life more who got her there and she would've remembered how she got there. She got through the gates of Panache and Anita all on her own. She was sucking up to Anita and probably would've gotten her as her mentor. Shonali (kang) was already messing up big time and I feel her position was in danger whether PC's character existed or not. Meghna was good at sucking up to people and making connections. I think in few years she would've definitely been a contender to be the new Panache face. Unless of course the movie forgot to mention that the only way to get there was through Arbaaz's bed.

So true. She didn't value what she had because she got it too quickly.

There was a disturbing scene in Fashion where Priyanka's character decides she has hit rock bottom after waking up next to a black man. After all that she says about colourism she didn't have a problem with that scene. And nobody asks her about it.

Then there's that scene in Queen where Kangana falls asleep at the hostel and screams "Mummieeee !!! " when she's woken up by a black man.

I don’t think we can blame actresses for the scene, they didn’t write them.

I think it wouldn’t have been too different if it were a white man. Indians think foreigners sleep around a lot casually 😆
