So I rewatched all the episodes recently, and I have an updated take on this. 😆
He had subconsciously accepted post Hiramandi track that she was his wife but had always seen her as a child. Later on when RTM21 played after Shubra Ma track, it was actually his dream of making her a barrister which became his whole world.
It was around Shubra Ma/Menstruation phase that he was warming up to the idea of truly being happy with her as his life partner/wife, but KSJ and Sampoo had pushed the parivarik jeevan idea on him so early, that he succumbed to his shell and went back into zimmedari mode, almost like a defense mechanism. He had never accepted it to himself before that.
Otherwise, he was naturally heading towards the idea that in the future he would have a perfectly normal husband-wife relationship with her. This lead him to rebound to Manorama and other things.
It was after the marriage annulment time like bshre said that he was free from the shackles of child marriage and could see clearly and reflect on what Bondita truly meant to him. This is when he realized that she's the only one he wants in his life, or he will remain single.
