Does it not remind you of KANK?

Ok so I'm new to the forum so I'm not sure if this was ever brought up.

But doesn't it feel like they're taking cues form Kabhie Alvida Naa Kehna? Where the audience is encouraged by the plot to root for the cheaters? I haven't watched today's episode yet but with everything they've shown, the new title clip/ poster, it just seems like they want to do this? I get that in this situation, Fateh + Jasmine had a relationship first, but do really people root for the cheaters in movies/shows??!!? Especially when their spouse(s) are good?

Did anyone actually root for SRK & Rani in that movie? I didn't... I'm not sure why ITV/Bollywood ever likes to show such plot lines. The only time it's "excusable" is if the cheater's spouse is also cheating and/or abusive.

somehow the movie made a lil sense

srk preity gets married very young n has child quickly, but as they grew up, they realized how diff they r, the feeling also escalated due to circumstance like srk's accident, inability to work full time, finance crunch etc.....

rani was never in love with abhi, she just thought it is love until she meets srk...felt bad only for abhi...

They all separated due to circumstance, but here characters r flawed n doing ping pong which s nowhere relatable

I get why Rani & SRK were unhappy just like how I get why Fateh is unhappy.

It’s more so about what is the intent of the CVs. Granted not all media has to be socially acceptable or morally acceptable (There are multiple shows across the globe about infidelity). But ITV, kind of like kdrama, always sets up good ML & good FL. It’s rare that they deviate from this. I just wonder then who is the true FL, and how they’re going to redeem the ML bc no one wants to root for him right now. Like in KANK, it seemed like we were supposed to sympathize with SRK and Rani but I don’t think anyone really did. Bc how could we? Their spouses weren’t bad people. Just like here, how does anyone sympathize with Fateh ?

I didn't like the movie but loved the songs😆 more. ekta kapoor used all the songs and instrumental tones of the movie in her shows😆.

Cheaters cannot be justified. So wether it is srk or fateh. No justification should be provided.

Cheaters toh cheaters hote hain😆.

Though in the movie I didn't find vamps or villian. but in the show jasmine is like low class vamp with sugary voice. And Fateh is villain in tejo's life.

I guess EMA is very common in ITV . There is a also show of ekta kehne ko humsafar who white washes the husband and woman having affair even after knowing he is married and 2 grown up children

I think the point with KANK was that the rifts made sense on some level, even if cheating is and was still not justified, it at least had some back story for the cheating spouse.

Here, Fateh was left and humiliated by Jasmine and Tejo supported him with no expectation. He was the one who initiated the consummation and Tejo was willing so she went ahead. Even marriages in west cannot be annulled post that.

EMA is tried and tested and works because people keep waiting for it to be resolved, but in this case, it is on the disgusting side because of the jija sali relationship, the complete lack of guilt/ remorse from both the sides and the fact that Fateh has no "realistic" reason to have problems with Tejo to cheat. Every other EMA shown has problems shown and the wife and husband somewhat estranged, here they literally slept together 1 day ago.

😆and he ends up cheating his second wife with first ex wife🤣.

And the guy continues to be cheater🤣.

Romancing , having physical relationship with young female actresses in the show🤣.

Both the wives divorces him and marries other male leads.😆

Most bakwas show 🤣
