----------------------

I wish people would cut Pallavi some slack.

Let her process things, it's all new for her. She's dealing with the ghosts of her past, now literally in the flesh. She once wondered what life might have been like had she married Mandaar but now her circumstances have changed and she's emotionally bound to Raghav forever. Seeing Mandaar back is making her feel like her past is dragging her back. She was barely married to Mandar for a few hours I guess, so since her wedding night she'd largely been like a single woman living with the Ds, more their beti than bahu. Now the fact that she's being referred to as Mandar's wife, implying she's their bahu, makes her feel awkward because she never really took that role on in her 2 years there.

She has only truly been a wife to Raghav and a bahu at the Raos now gradually and as she said legal documents or a piece of paper do not build a relationship. The experiences she's had with Raghav and the rest of the Raos has helped her grow as a person and see other facets of life, beyond just breaking free of the D-fam prison. However, that has happened more in a physical sense. Psychologically she has managed to remove some of her shackles but I believe through this track she's going to feel empowered to remove the remaining ones when everyone's true colors are seen. No matter how much Raghav may protect her or defend her, at some point she has to speak up for herself. As she did in the past, she will this time too but only when she's had time to figure out what exactly she wants to do next.

On top of that, the number of villains in her life has increased with Mansi and Keerti wishing her ill at every step. Amma's still supporting her and I hope this continues forever, but the fact is that the only one who can really stand with her is Raghav, since this new development has the potential to destroy his life as much as hers. Their relationship is/will be going through a trial by fire and only then will a stronger bond be forged. I think they started off on the right foot with trying to present a united front and work towards the same goal but Mandaar's real plan is still a mystery so we'll have to brace ourselves for some unexpected situations as will Raghav and Pallavi. They may not know how to respond or may not always make the right decisions, but as long as they are on the same page about supporting each other and defeating their enemies together, things will work out eventually.

The writers always draw parallels. If the previous track was about Raghav's past hurting his present, this one is about hers. Ultimately they will both be affected because their fates are intertwined. They say spouses complete one another/complement one another in areas where the other person may not be as strong. This is what I expect this track to explore. The best part is that they are talking about things upfront more and sharing their concerns right away rather than letting it fester. I really like seeing this on a show for a change instead of letting things drag and misunderstandings pile up. They've had their share of it and learned the hard way that being open with each other is the best way to protect their relationship and show respect to one another's feelings. So let the writers craft this tale the way they intended and see where it takes us. So far Raghav and Pallavi have been acting true to their characters for the most part. I don't see a deviation there, give or take some scenes that have gone off on a tangent, but that is to be expected to some degree on ITV so I let it go.

Well said....That's literally what Sandiip Sir hinted in his live interview. He also said that even if there is separation etc...Pallavi thinks of Raghav as her husband so let it play out. I feel like with Mandhaar here atleast we are getting some romantic scenes, Raghav/Pallavi confession, Raghav's possessiveness of Pallavi etc. Pallavi is a strong women. Remember she went against Raghav Rao, Hyderabad ke Don so Mandhar should be easy to tackle, but at the moment she is dealing with a lot of emotions, and the fact that her ex husband is alive, I mean seriously that is like huge, She has barely digested that and then the whole thing about him taking her and it has rocked her world. Let's see what the writers come up with. Also we have to keep in mind and also Sandiip Sir said this that Ved knows Mandhar so that story will unravel as well.

I love this track. I love how they talk to each other. I love how they share their little moments in their private space. What I love the most is how this love story progressed naturally, without any forced romance and eye locks and all that nibba nibbi drama. They truly have an organic growth, from hate to friendship, respect to trust and finally love.

@ bold - ditto!

I haven't seen this, close to real progress.... in itv since years!!!!!!!!

Whole MHRW team is excellent, however special kudos to the writers !!!!!!!!!!

Thank you for making this post..it was a much needed one

we must think from the character's pov rather than thinking what is usually right in the situation.

I agree with everything and you have summed up Pallavi's feelings and the whole thing on why such episodes are written so well

I think we should rather celebrate the positivity of the show rather than giving most of the attention on negativity

Beautiful post Jean. As usual, Pallavi at cross roads, but she will figure her way out. We all just need patience. Once from the greatest loss, comes the biggest victories.

Thanks for voicing out your opinion so firmly on this issue in the MF. I actually fail to understand the expectations people have from Pallavi's character.. Earlier she was expected to just forget about the case of Mandhar's death and now when he is here in flesh and blood infront of her, they expect her to look the other way.. Apart from the fact that this is a character that has been written a certain way which is why it is expected to behave a certain way in any given situation, there is also this fact that this is a drama. Pallavi's past, just like Raghav's, has been built up for this very moment ..this is one of the main highpoints of their story when their love and trust on each other will be tested.. Isn't that what we look forward to in a story? Where's the fun if Pallavi or even Raghav doesn't have those moments of self doubts and conflicts? And yes during the course of their actions, they will commit mistakes. Im actually surprised by how quickly they showed her course correct..She has kept the two most important communication channels open. She voiced her opinion on their marriage very clearly and firmly infront of Mandhar the other day. As fas as going to D-house is concerned..firstly, no matter how ''irritating'' people find Deshmukhs to be, fact is they are an integral part of the story and they will be there till the end..too bad if people can't handle that. And Pallavi's connection with them is also not gonna end just like that.. right now its Ayi, Mandhar, Nikhil, Amrutha and Kaka.. She was married in that family..and for whatever it was worth, they were her family.. You can't just take all of them out of the equation just because she is married to Raghav.. Even for someone who is not as magnanimous as Pallavi, it can be hard or even impossible to snap ties just like that.. Technically speaking baba is the only one who has let her down in that family.. Ayi has so far always been there for her..Kaka helped both Raghav and Pallavi get out of jail ..even otherwise he has always been so supportive.. how can one forget Nikhil for all the love and respect he has for Pallavi? And now Mandhar.. well so far Pallavi has nothing to hold against him.. he is the guy she actually quite respected and admired from what we could gather from her earlier conversations..whom she married and lost the very day of her wedding.. now he comes back with no memory.. what is she supposed to do? she toiled so hard to get a closure to his case and now when he appears infront of her, she should look away? Wouldn't that be so hypocritical? Like she was better off if he remained dead? All she did eversince he returned was re-unite him with his family.. and on his DOCTOR's insistence, she is helping him acclimatize to this new environment.. The doctor obviously has been manipulating her but how is she supposed to doubt her or Mandhar's intentions at this point? We have to give her sometime before she picks up clues and finds things fishy..that will happen..It has to.. but until then, like you said please cut her some slack.
