Parul, our love hate with him aside- credit where credit is due, his character work is so strong. He knows his characters inside out, which is what allows for such layered story telling. I've not seen other makers develop such deep characters so consistently before.

One thing came through very clearly in this live is that he sticks to his guns no matter what, doesnt get swayed by opinions..he has a story in his mind and he is gonna tell it his way..the characters will be how he has envisioned them to be.. also he is very passionate about his work and seems to love drama (villains are like tadka and I love tadke wali daal-quoting him 😆)

That is one thing I have realized after I came to US. In India it is always like - kuch ho jaata hain toh ladki ka character karab hain, she enabled the men, she teased them and what not. It is like ladki hain toh you better be prepared for everything and that goes to how you dress and where you go. Here in US there is huge emphasis on consent. Consent is something that is taught since the kids are in elementary schools. No saying that rape and assault don't happen here but the victim shaming is not as much as in India.
