Why not same song by two or more?

We have seen on saturday episode that there was a conflict between Toshi and Vinit as both of them wanted the same song, which eventually was given to Toshi. Eventually both of them ended up singing the same song anyway but in a different scenario altogether.

Why is it necessary that all of them have to sing different songs? Will it not be a fun to hear the same song sung by different competitors ?
