Finally the best bahu competition came to an end today😆......and our powerful Imaliya managed to win the competition after all😆
I felt it was a well done conclusion that addressed all the important points that needed to be addressed about this issue.....and this was done through the words of Mrs. Arora and the other two judges as they addressed the audience as well as Ts by making the important point that Imlie is not the best bahu for the Ts because she can cook or dance or do chores around the house.....she is the best bahu because she treats the family like her own and loves them like her own.....which is how any set of relationships is nurtured.....especially when you aren't blood related or born into a family.....
One heartfelt gesture and the ability to think for someone else before yourself can melt many selfish hearts.....as was the notable case with Mrs. Arora today😆.....the woman literally did a 180 cuz she was SO touched by Imlie bringing her a glass of water when her own bahu could barely be bothered😆. After that, she herself became Imlie's biggest fan and was advocating on her behalf to Aparna too🤣
Jokes apart, I felt Mrs. A ka character was used well to show a bunch of things - chasing after society ki validation is ultimately a mirage.....they can flip in an instant towards deciding what suddenly is worthy of respect in their eyes and most of society will fall in line per herd mentality😆......the same women who were berating Imlie as a maid for so many days suddenly were applauding for her best bahu win, calling her Mrs. Imlie Tripathi with respect, wanting to see her on stage with her husband😆.
I loved Imlie's speech too.....especially with the way she did such an effective countering of Prachi's insinuation that she got the trophy out of pity.....that the judges gave it to her seeing her gareebi.....I'm glad they gave Imlie the space to push back on this notion which many people like to accuse the makers of vis a vis this story that supposedly Imlie is glorified cuz she's from the village......lol it's a hilariously bizarre excuse IMO.....but anyways, getting back to Imlie's speech.....she rounded out her own journey with some very good dialogues.....acknowledging the fact that for a person from the village, to now be interacting with city folks like this in the city is a big deal in of itself....and she would have felt grateful for their benevolence if she had indeed come here to WORK.....but she DIDN'T.....she came here as Adi's WIFE......she reminded everyone that it wasn't her CHOICE to be married the way she was but since then all she's tried to do is nibhaao the rishte that came with the fact of that marriage......but when she tried to even that much, the society around her decided to show her her "aukaat".....tried to put her down for her background and insult her whole family over it. So for her, this competition was just a way of bringing back that respect for her family......everyone was determined to write her off and disrespect her family over her background.....and she decided that the perception had to be changed.....and change it she did......because ultimately we all saw how quickly perceptions shift.😆.......the people who were determined to see her as nothing but a maid were suddenly all praises for her goodness, her compassion, and restored her humanity and respect in an instant.😆
That is what this competition was ultimately about......needing to put out a different perception of Imlie than the one they had all gotten used to and were now using to diminish her.....winning this competition on the basis of her own qualities rather than some artificial measures proved to everyone the caliber of her personality and earned her respect on her own dum......that is how she not just restored but elevated her image in front of everyone......her goal was to elevate the respect of her family along with that.....but Ts decided to continue remaining mutinously stubborn😆.
It was really quite amusing to see Mrs. Arora cajoling Aparna ki you know what you really ARE very lucky to have Imlie as your bahu.....😆.....Aparna's face was just cracking me up....she must be thinking ki jis society ke darr se itna gussa kiya, woh society bhi mujhe DHOKA de gayi and Team Imlie ho gayi?🤣.....ultimately I think Adi-Imlie did manage to prove the point ki log toh apni baatein bol ke side pe ho lete hain....toh unki baaton ke basis pe apni zindagi ke har faisle ko tikaana is a fallacy......so I think what's lingering for Aparna now is the core hurt over herself feeling betrayed by Adi-Imlie.....society ki judgement wala issue is resolved for now😆......woh log toh khud khushi khushi Adi-Imlie ko couple maan chuke hain aaj😆
I LOVED the brief moment when Adi came on stage and gestured at Imlie to lift up her trophy.....aww woh scene yaad aa gaya when he had won an award and had showed her the trophy first and made her lift it up.....😆
Baaki the Adi-Imlie kitchen scene was nice too where Imlie was taking shehed for Aparna....still thinking about the fact ki sasumaa apna muh jalaa ke baithi hai mirchis se😆.....meanwhile Adi was like trophy bhi saath mein lekar jaao to remind Maa that this is a symbol of what all you have been willing to LOSE for her sake.....apni self-respect, apni jaan.....sab kuch toh daavn pe lagaya hai Aparna ke liye kitni baar.....lol last time bhi ped pe chadh gayi just to get shehed for Aparna to make mithaai😆.....nice partnership wala convo again :)
Baaki gundas have already arrived at Editor Saab ka office to target Adi over some story he just published......lol@ Adi telling Imlie ki gunde/terrorists se zyada use ab MAA se darr lagta hai🤣.....Sahi bhi hai......lol
Precap mein ho gaye lagte hain Babusahib kidnap....bori mein ghusaa ke😆.....Imlie is yet again a witness to his kidnapping😆.....toh jaayegi ab apne Babusahib ko bachaane phir se......looks like AC has haath milaaoed with some gundas to get Adi kidnapped.....this seems seperate from whichever goons wanted to target him over his story.
