I am not asked for the opinion here but thought of giving my 2 cents. As Lakshmi pointed out, virats jealousy is momentary and specific to sai, his wife. I don’t think he has patriarchal views otherwise. 3 points to understand him better

1. If he knows sai loves him, will he restrict her from having male friends? No

2. Is he blind of Sai’s jealousy towards pakhi? Yes till recently. Only now he understands it affects her.( ignoring today’s hand holding ). I don’t think he thinks he can get away with being close to pakhi just because he is a man. He is just oblivious.

3. will virat free sai if she loves someone else? Yes absolutely!

So again, his jealousy is because he wants her love and due to his own insecurities. He may be blind to Sai’s feelings but that doesn’t make him patriarchal. If he knows sai loves him or if sai loves someone else he will let her choose. He is in the middle of uncertainty hence the strong emotions.

He grew angry in the Aniket’s case too, asked her not to dance but later asked her how her performance was going or how Aniket was. His anger in jealousy looked momentary back then and even now. The dialogues were definitely screaming controlling behavior, but what about his actions. He was jealous but he did watch his wife dancing on the stage. He was being a sport. How do you interpret those as? He asked her not to talk to male friends I agree, but again it looked like out of jealousy and momentary. We need to wait and watch if he controls her or stops hers from talking to a male friend or makes it an issue. If not, it is just a jealousy that comes out momentarily. I would personally wait and watch to see how he behaves or reacts.

Only thing I feel is that Virat should reflect on his own actions, should try to look into his relationship with Pakhi whenever he has issues with Sai moving with guys. In general, people who get clouded by emotions can hardly think about what they did, so it is quite natural for him to have not thought about it once. But if he keeps getting disturbed, then he has to think about it.

Everything need not be about patriarchal views I feel. It could or could not be. He does have a few patriarchal views but many of his reactions are because he doesn’t seem to have control over his emotions. He acts irrationally only when he has no control over his emotions and jealousy/insecurity is also one of those.

@bold guessing this is the next track. If we are getting the suicide track , based on what KD phd holders have mentioned Aai calls out his double standards and how is it ok for Pakhi to walk into his room per her whim even when Sai is not around. Hoping this is the last of his double standard scenes 🤞and we will see a better version of him with regards to him and Pakhis scenes

How is it positive when he is thinking it but negative when he says it out loud?

It is not about what he does with Pakhi, even if he didn't have anyone like Pakhi around him, these restrictions are problematic

I think this way! See he sees himself pitted against a boy who is younger to him and might have similar mindset as his wife. His wife shares her feelings with that boy more than him. Moreover he doesn’t have the assurance of her love but has some hope that his wife might like him eventually. But now with ajinkyas presence, he is pushed to worry about his status constantly. It is all happening in his mind and he might be brushing it aside in the disguise of cute antics but it is affecting himself deep down. Now for a second, if it appears that she is having a relationship with that guy under his nose, he feels betrayed and verbally expresses his displeasure. That’s what he thinks: that she doesn’t find him attractive or eligible for her love . That is his insecurity and it comes out in the ugliest form by insulting her for her betrayal. This is absolutely wrong. But highly possible scenario.

(If you have seen Harry Potter 7th part, Ron’s insecurity is visually portrayed at its worst when he imagines his 2 best Friends making out. Your worst fears are ugly. )

Judging him for patriarchy based on this mistake is not correct. He is an emotional guy and loses his senses. If anything to be blamed then it is this characteristic of him. Will he do it again and again? may be he will. It is his trait. They will suffer because of this as a couple if he does it again. Everytime if ever it happens.

I hope they don’t show him unreasonable in Ghum. He does and I think might have double standards for a very long time in the future too. It can be seen or judged if we get to see him react differently when Sai makes mistakes alone. He has let go of many things his family has done with just a few strict warnings or showing them he is upset with them but has been very strong in his resolve to punish Sai whenever she makes mistakes. This behavior is a typical behavior of having high expectations only from wife and taking them alone for granted.

There is jealousy in Pakhi too, her actions are result of her jealousy, now if Ajinkya was around Virat, I have read things like he would kill people whose name start with "A", How is this kind of toxicity acceptable?

Jealousy is not cute, I can understand the feeling of insecurity and who doesn't have that? If he thinks his wife loves someone else then as a guardian, he should divorce her and give her a right to choose her life partner, weren't they forced to marry each other?

Doesn't he know that for his wife, this is a temporary situation?

He has patriarchal mindset, not judging from this one instance, look at the condition of women in ACP's house, his mother is victim of domestic violence, what has he done to help his mother? Isnt it bare minimum?

Hope not 🤞. That will be such a put off. Already his scenes with Pakhi scream of double standards and I hate the fact that makers add these so called romantic scenes even if Veeru did not have such an intention. How can they even think it's ok considering she is his elder brothers wife 🤮🤮.

A big yes on his anger towards Sai, which he shows sometimes at the slightest of things. I was surprised he did not get angry or even annoyed at p Didi yesterday. why I couldn't follow esince she was Clearly jealous and was trying to ruin the surprise for Sai. He reacted so calm and composed and upar sye held her hand and was whispering in her ears with the weird background score and p Didi giving lovey dovey looks. Never understand why the makers show step motherly treatment towards Sai and Veeru and extra affection towards paapi and add these scenes 🤮🤮

One simple point - when ever he sees sai close to her male friend... he is jealous as he thinks ...

sai's friendship with male friend can/will be like his and pp friendship eventually....

even though sai cleared that Ajinkey is her friend like virat has sunny.........
