Part 41:
The phone interrupted the moment as funnily almost as it happens in shows n movies that they started smiling about it. Karan tried to restart from where they had left off but to his sheer bad luck, Gloria had arrived. She came while he was just about to hold her hand she entered his room asking if he needed anything.
The look on karan's face made shweta laugh as she knew what was going on in his mind whereas Gloria was confused, when karan replied to her saying: you already stopped what I was about to have now what can you get me? As he replied to her when she asked if he wants anything
After that shweta left karan saying this is no time to get naughty as exams r here, all poor karan could do was sigh n continue his studies as shweta left him with a giggle.
Soon time flied by n exams too started, thou mandira was still recovering in the hospital as she was badly injured karan went to her early in the morning on the first day of his exams n took her blessings, where SH n shweta accompanied him, shweta too took SH & mandira' blessing along with karan n both left for their exams.
The exams lasted for 2 weeks wherein KS n everyone worked their level best.
On the last day of the exams everyone came out really happy as expected.
Everyone met up at pappy' cafe, where he had announced a treat to all the students today being their last day, a tradition he always did on the farewell day.
Excitement, happiness n a visible stress free atmosphere filled up the place.
KS with their friends too were enjoying when anu said: OK now that even the exams are over I think guys it' time we all remembered something.
Chris: what is it anu?
A: of the treat KS had promised us remember
Shane: absolutely anu couldn't agree more also we have to celebrate that win in the football match
Maya: ya & with the exams now over we have a triple treat so lets celebrate guys
Everyone yelled in joy.
That' then Chelsea had an idea: guys if we have a triple reason to party then I think we shd just not celebrate it by going to a disc for a night
Will: what are u saying?
C: oh common, now that even our exams r over n we r free birds lets go for a rocking getaway. I think it's the best way to end this scary experience besides now we all may get on with our lives so this may be the last time we all can hang out together. So let's make it a memorable one what say?
For a second there everyone was quiet as they knew Chelsea was right, now with the college over who know where they might end up.
So a second later shweta said: Chelsea Ur so right gal, we'll def make this one a trip to remember, we gals come up with the brightest ideas ever!
Karan & Shane together: hey what does that mean?
The guy's n gals got into a friendly banter over the age old gender issue. They were finally interrupted by pappy who thought that his caf resembled a fish market owing to the noise n commotion.
Taking center stage he asked everyone to keep quiet: all right now everyone here, all of ya pls keep quiet will ya? I m running a caf here as long as I remember so don't be making this a fish market, will ya fellows. OK now as u all know as always to all my dear children here today everything is gonna be on the house.
(everyone cheerfully applauded that) every year now for the last 35 years that I have been running this caf from the time I was a young man till today that I m a tired old man I know I couldn't have asked for more in my life.
Each n every year that has came I have always found fresh faces n new friends over all in forms of youngsters like you'll, & to my sheer pleasure have met some of the most beautiful n memorable people of my life. (He lovingly looked at KS n the Gang who were; looking at him with the same love n adulation with respect)
N now again it's that time of the year again when some of my friends leave again. From now on you will be meeting life n the world outside head on so your old pappy would like to wish all of you a very happy life n best of luck for the future as well.
Also I have this very special announcement to make (his staff started coming in with plates covered n with the most delightful aroma. )
Today not only is this a on the house treat but it's a spl 1 as well, as today not only you but I leave this college as well.
It was just then that the shocked students who were looking at each other also noticed the presence of the principal n some senior teachers as well there, quietly standing there.
Shweta: what do u mean pappy?
K: ya what are you saying pappy?
P: oh m I making this that complicated? I don't think so.
Victor (a second year student): but pappy how can u say that?
P: oh u kids I m retiring now after all ur old pappy is too tired to be running around now, besides its not as if I m dying so relax will ya.
Another student: but pappy how can u do this
Just then the principal interrupted: pappy the kids r gonna miss u for sure but I guess they'll be a little less sad if you told em who's gonna be here from now on
Smilingly pappy said: yes sir , kids I know u love me n so do I n trust me I may retire but that doesn't mean I m far away as after me Joe( his 3rd son who helped pappy n was equally liked by all) will be here for all of u.
Thou everyone was sad at pappy' retirement Joe's stay was welcomed with smiles n happiness.
The caf rocked with the special treat pappy had arranged for all, later he went to KS, who hugged him n he got moist eyed.
Looking at shweta placing his hand on her head, he hugged her saying: sweetheart I'll miss u so much, u no u were always to me like the daughter I never had (he had 3 sons)
S: oh pappy pls don't say that I'll come to meet you
K: ya n so will I pappy how can u think that we will let u go so easily.
P smiled at that n hugged karan, u no what I wish if I had a daughter like shweta then I had a 4th son as well like you or perhaps in this case a son – in – law. He winked as they both blushed.
KS: pappy
P: oh u can't fool Ur old pappy now, can you, but I m really so happy for the 2 of you.
Saying that he gave 'em gifts, as both went red in the face n looked shy.
It was a gift for them a good luck charm, which both accepted happily.
