The movie was a remake of Tamil film Poove Unnekaga starring Vijay which released in 1996.

+ Poove Unnekaga ALSO starred Sangita and Anju Aravind.

Love it when the girlies get left out

🤣🤣that's so ridiculously funny! Such pathetic attempt to make Anil Kapoor look fat. Cheap body suit which is like a balloon.

His face is like a stiff plastic/ rubber mould and they aren't panning the camera on it! 😆

How did you manage to watch it!😆 Was Anil fat throughout the movie?

No he isn't fat throughout the movie. He loses weight at the end of this song itself.

Honestly this movie only created hype among the audience because of Anil Kapoor playing a fat guy in it. Makers were banking alot on that.

Yeah it makes sense on why they would go for such an ending. But it feels weird for a family comedy to have a sad ending.

Oh that's magical!😆

Hhmm do you think if he remained fat throughout the movie then it would have worked!🤔or the story was pretty boring.

Reality : people move on eventually since time heals and life gets in the way.

Fantasy : hung up on first love forever and even make endless sacrifices.

Fantasy sells even if I don't understand why or how it makes sense.

I like all versions of this story as it is funny and the family angle really lovely.

I hoped the ending would be different in any languages. But nooo.... Let's not broke the fantasy it is I guess.

Story is not toxic but the message might be.

Yes I would’ve suspected it

Bold - Yes, that’s what I meant too

Sorry about that but I only posted the names of actors who are popular and would be known to people on this forum.

It's only to help people recall the movie if they've forgotten about it.

The fat guy angle doesn't really have much to do with the story and is just used to try something new.

If anything, the only way it's relevant to the story is Raja deciding to loose his weight to impress Florence, which shows how far he's ready to go to get her love.

If he was fat throughout the movie then it would've been completely pointless so no, the film won't have done better at the box office with that.

People do move on but it takes time. It made sense for Raja to not move on so soon and marry Tina while he's still in love with Florence.
