“To the world you may be one person, but to one person you are the world.” — Bill Wilson

I know that I am guilty of still replying to many incredible observations that have been showered with love, thought and care on various threads. 🤗

But, here I am again with a sequel of conversations regarding the recent discovery I made while watching the wedding scenes again.😆

The trigger of thoughts has been Dev (Ever thought I would start loving him so much.😛)

Though, the wedding was happening for Dev, the secondary dynamics of Shiva and Ravi were very intriguing to watch. We see Raavi bumping into Shiva in the previous episode, and lets him watch her first in the bridal attire as compared to her moon or prince charming.

Later when she sees Dev for the first time sitting on the chariot as a groom, she’s still in her dreamland. Her reality soon shifts to 2 very important people in her life-Dhara and Shiva. She showers all her love to Dhara and for Shiva she has all her playfulness. No matter how much Ravi claims to love Dev, as a viewer we can’t help but notice the subtle nuances during the wedding between Shiva-Raavi!

It does makes me always curious! It was never meant to be Dev; it had always been Shiva-Raavi and their universe. They both were oblivious that their lives circled around each other. When in the middle of a romantic dream wedding, Ravi couldn’t help but want Shiva closer to her and watch her ceremony.

Image

This is Shiva’s precise reaction after seeing her beating her own trumpet and being in her Lala land.

Image

Particularly liked this frame where Raavi thanks Dhara for bringing this happiness into her life. You can see everybody having an endearing look at Raavi apart from Shiva. Though there is a slight hint of irritation, he probably thinks that she is supremely foolish to live in her fancy world

Image

Out of the blue, she just couldn’t stop herself from poking😆 Shiva to dance with her. Look at her face and she talks to him! She is sassy and always looking for acceptance from him!

Image

Shiva is supremely bored to dance with her 🤣🤣

And, look at Krish 🤣

Image

The next two caps are sheer gold!

Banno ri Banno playing in the background while Raavi showers all her love!

A gaze of Shiva hovers from Raavi, watching her with warmth when she hugs Dhara, and then finally towards Dev. There is a tiny split-second of emotion which is very difficult to construe. It could be that how this man is lucky to have a loving girl like her. It could also be that Dev doesn’t share the the enormity of the emotion to tie this girl in love. Or, it could also be that despite getting married to such a loving girl, Dev will never be happy.

Image
Wonder what oily is thinking at this moment? 🙊

Image

This look of Shiva is interesting!

Image

She calls Shiva right in the middle of the ceremony 😆She can't control 🤣

Image

Her beautiful smile breaks my heart! No matter how much I knew what was happening, I can't help feeling really sad for Raavi!

Image

Shiva was standing like a statue. It's very tiny, but he keeps the decorum of the ceremony intact; he seeks the permission of Gaura first before reaching out to Raavi sitting at the wedding altar.

Image

Her logic of asking him to sit and watch the ceremony by sitting close to her. 🤣

Image

I captured every single second. She is so happy in the one 😆

Image

Doesn't she look stunning ❤️

Their heads are practically touching!

Your memory feels like home to me.
So whenever my mind wanders, it always finds it’s way back to you.

These two ❤️

There is a 1973 Lee theory on the styles of lovers. What Ravi felt for Dave is similar to Fragma defined by him. This is copy pasted from his research.

Pragma is a style of love that emphasizes the practical aspects of love. The pragmatic lover considers compatibility and the sensibility of their choice of partners. This lover will be concerned with goals in life, status, family reputation, attitudes about parenting, career issues and other practical concerns.

Shiva and Ravi share are more related to Mania and Eros.

Mania is a style of love characterized by volatility, insecurity, and possessiveness. This lover gets highly upset during arguments or breakups, may have trouble sleeping when in love, and feels emotions very intensely.

Eros is an erotic style of loving in which the person feels consumed. Physical chemistry and emotional involvement are important to this type of lover.

The Not So Dreamy Varmala Scene!

I have always felt that this scene has been criminally underrated in our discussions about Pandya store. 🤪

That’s why I thought it deserved a special segment, because all my married sisters here would agree that despite all the banter during the Varmala ceremony, the conversation never hovers to the people teasing them in real life.

It's always between the bride and the groom! But, the entire VarMala sequence is so focused on Shiva and Raavi here 😆

Pardon me if you feel that I have gone berserk while capturing each and every emotion. This was too hard to resist.🥰

Image

See Shiva at his prankster best when he signals Krish to lift Dev up during the garland exchange.😆

Image

While everyone is having fun, looking at Dev, Shiva tightened his jaws and simply glares at Ravi.😆

Image

Raavi tries her nautanki best to make Shiva melt.
Tu aaj bhi mujhe tang karna nahi chodega

Image

Puri Zindagi bhar nahi!

And this intensity and declaration give me goosebumps. I hope you can now see that during the entire wedding sequence, Shiva and Ravi had a universe of their own.

Image

The sequence of Ravi and her fights with Shiva don’t change at all. She will poke him, he would tease her. He would tease her, she would whine and plead! 🤣
These two kids 😆

Image

Toh Daal na! Maine kaun as tera hath pakad rakha hai 😆
Now that I go back to all their scenes, it becomes fairly evident that their dialogues were always hinting towards their deep-rooted bond from childhood. We all have indulged in multiple discussions about whether Shiva was attracted to Raavi always? The answer is fairly yes, subconsciously, as both of them were completely oblivious to the fact that their entire universe revolved around each other. They both yearned for each other’s acceptance, would indulge in playful banter for comeuppance, and poke each other constantly. Both were equally involved! 🤗

Image

His challenge game becomes a notch higher 👿

Image

Ja nahi karta...Kya kar legi tu!
It like there staple conversation?
🤣

Sometimes life is a zero-sum game between the people you love.

Piu ❤️❤️ This piece of writing is sheer brilliance!! Love you for elaborating my favorite sequence in PS so far - The wedding sequence!!🤗❤️ You do realize that you are amazing, right?

ShiVi’s lives revolved around each other. There was, is and will never be any place for a third person in their story! Like Gaumbi rightly said “Shiva ki duniya Raavi ke irt girt hi ghumti rehti hai”. Dev was always the side character in ShiVi’s story! For Raavi, Shiva’s reactions, his opinions about her always mattered more than anything! She could let go her inhibitions and be her own, fierce self in front of Shiva whereas in front of Dev she had to put a pleasant, innocent facade, something which she wasn’t in her real life! Raavi- Dev was always a losing game!

I loved how you compared Raavi-Dev to Pragma and ShiVi to Eros and Mania! Thats some brilliant analysis Piu!

Loved this analysis Piu! After reading this I am going to go back and watch the wedding episode again before going to bed! 😆 Beautifully written! Will read it again and again!🤗❤️ Thanks for tagging me Piu! ❤️

Aah the wedding sequence Wonderful post as usual ❤️

You know, Dev's dialogue in the last episode also took me back to this wedding! I was thrown for a loop- if this guy felt that ShiVi had a world of their own, what was he even thinking when he said yes to marry Raavi.

Of course he was heartbroken and not thinking straight. But my mind jumped to a What if discussion we all had. Dev's current dialogue completely changes the scope of the What if Dev Raavi did get married.

Wow, these two would have continued living in their own bubble. So there would be this added level of complexity- Dev in love with someone else, while being cognizant of the fact that his wife shares something with his brother, which he could never be a part of.

I wonder- would it have been a recipe for disaster? or would Dev silently acknowledged this world, and just quietly lived out his days with Raavi? Would they have ever fallen in love, in the true sense? 🤔

Piu this is such a beautiful post.

I waited for sometime before replying to get my thoughts in order and Fah_huq( sorry I don't know her name) updated Bariyan. That is close to what I always felt for the two.

I don't think either Shiva or Raavi were in love before marriage or in childhood. But they were close. They were childhood enemies always in each other's faces yet could not let anybody else hurt the other person- Shiva's anger on Dev for leading on Raavi and breaking her heart, Raavi telling her maasi that shiva is family. Shiva might have been attracted to her at times because she is a beautiful girl but it wasn't love . Yet there was a chemistry between them , comfort and familiarity in the fights. There was a fire between them which consumed the world so that it ceased to exist leaving just the two of them in that moment. They could have been best friends fighting like cat and dogs and it would have progressed to love at one point but this linear narrative was interrupted due to Maami ki behen ki beti. Shiva always saw Raavi as maami's relative and after everything maami did, he could not have cultivated a friendship with her. And Raavi gave back as good as got - she herself never realized that she at times crossed to being mean and commented harshly on his appearance. Despite both of them hurting each other in turns they did not hold it against the other. The very next moment they were back to being the same as always- Raavi's mehendi was spoiled by Shiva and after a few moments she was dancing merrily with him . That dance was another example of them being in their own world - no third person could enter in that equation.

Raavi and Dev was never meant to be. Raavi believed she loved Dev but I always thought it was a crush. It was a ticket to her dream of being a Pandya bahu. In her naivety, she felt Dev could be her prince charming and she would belong to pandya family. Dev might be prince charming by society standards but not for her. What she needs in a companion she would not get in Dev - she needs a tether and an anchor. Shiva provided her with it both alongwith being strong enough to tide her over uncertain times.

Now if she did not love Dev to madness, why did she try to suicide? I think and really I have thought a lot about this ( come to think of it I am too sincere about PS🤣) for Raavi, her marriage to Dev was the ticket to fulfil all her dreams. Suddenly all the dreams were shattered together. She was left at the altar and was now an object if ridicule for the entire town. She who had declared her love to whole somnath was rejected at the mandap for another girl. It was humiliation alongwith hopelessness that shattering of dreams bring. She could see her sate to be same as Anita. She would be an added burden on Maasapaa now . It seemed the end of the road to her and she decided to end it for once and all
