Is Tejo any different from the typical ITV Female Leads?

At first glance, I thought the Udaariyan characters were well written, although contradictions in Tejo's personality were noticeable right from the beginning. I thought they would tone down her blind love for family a bit to make it a bit consistent with her personality.

Her fights with Fateh, being bold was still okay but where does this fiery side go when it comes to decision-making? Where does that cautious Tejo disappear? It's hard to believe that a lecturer who has a reputation for being sharp and strict would be so assuming when it comes to her family and other things. Her intellectual was side was displayed during the initial episodes when she vowed to flush out the Canada craze from her family's system and also when amrik and mahi's plan during JasFa wedding's "Jaago" backfired. She even had the courage to slap Fateh when he dragged her to the mandap against her will. The action was completely justified. But when will this assertive side be displayed for her family members? her slapping some sense into Fateh clearly showed that she understands that sometimes you need to call upon people's foolishness.

Then came the turning point of her job after marriage when she did try to convince her in-laws by trying to build upon the relationship of trust rather than opposing vehemently. Again, I found this reaction of hers extremely realistic and practical which was definitely fitting in with her character completely.

I am sure we all can agree that most of us were attracted to Tejo's character the most in Udaariyan and then that attraction began to extend to other characters as well. The main reason would be Tejo's ambition and purpose in life. However, as the serial has begun to progress I wonder where is that character lost? Her sacrificial nature and blind love are getting too much to digest. Till now Udaariyan has been enjoying good progress due to the realistic and logical twists and turns in addition to JasFa and Fatejo ships. However, now I am getting a feeling that the makers are trying to make the most of the JasFa v/s Fatejo war that has been going on for a while now. It's clear to everyone that Fatejo is the endgame. However, to satisfy JasFa fans, there have been past and some current scenes of JasFa which is understandable to an extent but the addition of Tejo's blind trust towards Jasmine and their sisterhood is really unbelievable, to say the least. The girl who could betray her fiance and prioritize her own desire (which would have only been fulfilled a bit later) over the family's reputation at the first chance is really gonna care about her sister? So I somehow feel that Tejo's character is going downhill somewhere in all this which was completely unnecessary in my opinion. It's not like she was going to stop all the JasFa jealousy incidents from happening. The JasFa scenes could have still continued to be there without Tejo's foolishness.

If this goes on, how are we supposed to separate Tejo's character from the typical sati Savitri too good to be true avatar? How long can we say that her character is different from the stereotypical ITV Female Leads?

No. To be fair it's my mistake that after knowing what kinda regressive, trashy shows itv makes, I fell for one. However I'mma out now. Already haven't seen any single scene, not gonna do it. Just a few stories in my universe where tejo is happy, and I'm out.

You aren't the only one sailing in that boat dude! But that hope in me is still hanging on, although I have already stopped following the show with the same dedication that I had before. Earlier I used to watch episodes before TV, but now it's been 3 days I haven't even felt like watching any episode. Just watched today's clip of Mamiji and Tejo because yesterday's precap piqued my curiosity and lo! the makers didn't disappoint me at all! unfortunately. Even I am unsure how long my interest in the show will last. I just hope it lasts long enough that my current fanfictions get completed and don't remain incomplete. After that I am out as well.

Yeah they are serving us the same old dish again just with a new name. Stopped watching the episodes since Jasmins cheapness and Tejos blindness...don't even want to talk about fateh. All three leads need help.

Only come here to hear some positive news...guess I will hv to wait really long for that. ITV never fails to disappoint me ...

To be honest, all shows start out like that on ITV. They vow to be different, with a better storyline and characters that impress. But once it builds a steady audience it becomes a slave to TRPs and completely slaughters its characters 🤔

I really had high hopes from Udariyaan since I started watching ITV shows after a gap of five years but what did I get in return? Another typical drama gift wrapped as something new.

Exactly!! many of us were actually attracted to the character tejo more than the show!! and now they are treating that character like some side character who has no place in twists and turns!! i even wonder if the writers of the show has been changed or not!! 😕

Shaurya Aur Anokhi ki Kahaani for one surely did stick to their words. But of course, how can the channel digest that a progressive show is running along giving competition to the regressive shows that they have been running for years? We all know how this matter is ending.

I remember a few shows from star plus. And after their slogan 'soch nayi'

Two or three marriages in different shows were forced. Like guy literally threatens them, kidnaps them and afterwards they become a happy couple. Wtf even. This is aukaat of ITV. Ugh.

I'm just done man. Please duck this shit and write a few good stories. I wanna say goodbye with good taste.
