I think Gul's new show is Maa's adaptation and not remake. The mother and daughter universal connection will be the same rest everything will be totally different like it will be a modern dance based drama where Paridhi unaware of the fact that Vaishnavi is her daughter will help her and her friends in dance training.
It says in TOI article that Vaishnavi will be missing since her birth so Monica will be her foster mom. But Monica will be from a humble family background and her character wont be negative.
Even in Meri Maa which I and mom watched for few episodes had one foster mom of Jhilmil who loved her but was strict. She and her Jhilmil were beggars I think. Sayantani was real mom. Her saas was kameeni who always blames her for her daughter going missing when it was actually fault of her husband played by Shakti Anand. Sayantani had one son who was younger to Jhilmil buther saas would not let her meet his own son in the house and once threatened her that if she meets him she won't be even able to see him from far in the house as she will send him to boarding school or somewhere. Don't know why I and mom stopped watching. May be she lost interest. Earlier the shows she liked I would watch till she watches and if she stops then I too stop.
