In the regional version, the friends insulting part happens before Shiva has any feelings for her. Also they have a dinner at Maami’s house, where she insults Shiva. And hence due to an inferiority complex Shiva drinks

It’s not the same here My poor Shiva has fallen for her, so it’s going to be so much more tears 😆
